Ha, ditto! Thing is though he's now sent me a private message - watch out for this. Re: Dear union
Another member asked me a question, I replied without using any abusive comments explain why I post and think the way I do. I see no reason why you or any of my fan club need to comment. Maybe if you lot didnt reply to me the threads would go so far off target?ProudhonPJ wrote: ↑04 Sep 2022, 16:18Ha, ditto! Thing is though he's now sent me a private message - watch out for this. Re: Dear union
You don't think that the board will, in reality, be equally scared of losing big contracts and the company ging under? If that happpens then they will have massively failed the shareholders that they are employed to protect and ensure that they get a good return from their investment.2yearpostie wrote: ↑04 Sep 2022, 14:56No, im genuinely scared of losing big contracts and having no job at all when its getting rather scary out there bill wise. Id sooner have a crap job than no job.
At the moment there are more job vacancies than job seekers. If you are happy to have a crap job then there are already plenty of such vacancies. I want to keep this a decent job with decent wages and decent terms and conditions. I am prepared to fight for that. If RM goes under as a result then so be it.
I am confident that I can very easily get another job if it came to it. You claim to have worked in other jobs, so you should also be confident in yourself that you won't simply be out of work. You come across as someone who is seriously risk averse - someone who won't fight for anything at all in case you end up on the losing side. The problem with that attitude is that you are aslo likely to achieve very little if you aren't prepared to take a risk.
Thankfully most people aren't like you. They are prepared to fight for things that matter to them. You, on the other hand, will simply accept whatever you are offered and be grateful for it. You really are an employers dream.

I believe in a honest days pay, When broken down its not a difficult job and I believe £12.5op/h is well paid for what we do.Schiff wrote: ↑04 Sep 2022, 16:25You don't think that the board will, in reality, be equally scared of losing big contracts and the company ging under? Yes i am risk averse.
Yes I have had other bad jobs, thats how I know even under the proposed conditions this one would still be better.
Its deeply worrying that you (and others ) would happily see RM collapse and put the people who want to work here out of a job. Maybe upskilling yourself into a better job than we currently have is an option?

The purpose of a union is for the members to remain united. You had the chance to make your view known when we were balloted for industrial action. The overwhelming majority decided that they weren't prepared to simply take it up the backside and accept that this would become a shitty job. They voted to take a stand. You should now be standing together with your striking colleagues in that fight, acknowledging that very very few think like you do. Instead you spend your time on here trying to undermine the sacrifices that others are now making on your behalf.
Time to read the room and shut up.

Re: Dear union
The views of those not in the union are totally irrelevant to industrial action organised by the union. If they don't pay their subs then they aren't entitled to any say at all. They accept what they get.2yearpostie wrote: ↑04 Sep 2022, 16:54

Those who took part in the vote and voted "no" made their views known by doing so. They were in a tiny minority. As union members they are expected to then unite behind the majority decision.
As for your other suggestion, who the hell would take part in a secret ballot with 2 choices and vote for the option which wasn't what they really wanted?
Have you moved to China? Go on. Make my day.

Re: Dear union
Exactly we have had the time for democracy we voted I voted to strike and stand by that even now for every one detractor on here I hear so much more good things by many others on here. I feel good about all our actions so far and am heartened by most peoples responses I meet in the street or just work.

Re: Dear union
Sadly everyone's view is relevant because we have collective bargaining and some might feel that the Union is actually jeopardising their jobs and future whether they like it or not! It is hard one to work with if someone really does not want any of the Union's stuff or disagree with them - it is like a cartel!Schiff wrote: ↑04 Sep 2022, 17:07The views of those not in the union are totally irrelevant to industrial action organised by the union. Some people here will go on the strikes and then berate the Union when they strike a deal - there is no pleading everyone. Are we going to vote on the agreement reached - I doubt it!

Re: Dear union
I should also like to say that the purpose of the Union is not to be united - what sort of statement is that!
The purpose is to get the best for their members - simple as!
It is possible to be led by donkeys - be vigilant and not be a sheep!

Re: Dear union
What a shock 2yearpostie jumping up the management backside, no we're not worth a payrise are we, I mean we're not multi millionaire shareholders or CEOs or high up mangers, we're just grunts who should just accept their lowly position shut up and get on with it, all the millions of profits that was made off our backs should obviously go to Czech billionaire who's gonna asset strip the company and steal our pension pot, we deserve nothing, and if this Czech billionaire does get a controlling share you'll be out of job anyway cos like I said he'll asset strip the crap out of us and all that's left if anything will be a part time deliveroo type job, or we could stick together like well over 90% voted for and stand up for ourselves and protect a 500 year old company, 2year is your real name Simon perhaps2yearpostie wrote: ↑04 Sep 2022, 16:54The views of those who voted no, voted to strike ( but didnt really want to) and those not in the union arent relevent in this situation?Schiff wrote: ↑04 Sep 2022, 16:51So sad.2yearpostie wrote: ↑04 Sep 2022, 16:31I believe in a honest days pay, When broken down its not a difficult job and I believe £12.5op/h is well paid for what we do.Schiff wrote: ↑04 Sep 2022, 16:25You don't think that the board will, in reality, be equally scared of losing big contracts and the company ging under?
