We wont 'win'Frankie15 wrote: ↑04 Sep 2022, 13:46Then the union fight to get you more money and better work conditions. And when they do you take what they and your colleagues fought for whilst you think you did the right thing by mocking us and being a lap dog for a company that couldn't give 2 Donald Ducks about you!!!! I can't wait to read your posts on here when we eventually bring the bastards to their knees and win the inevitable fight. Just remember WE are Royal Mail and WE are the CWU, not the greedy, lying ratbags who are making money of our hard earned graft! We'll be here long after they take their ill gotten gains and move onto some other company just as loads of their predecessors have!!!
Its obvious to anyone outside of RM that you cant have a delivery company that doesnt deliver 7 days a week or after 3pm anymore. It doesnt work.( It would be like running a cafe that only opens between 2Pm and 3pm, wonderful for the staff but no use to customers) , No I dont like it, but if the company dont have any contracts from big companies then it wont exist in any format anymore.
Likewise its obvious that any company working under these business conditions of a looming recession will want to cut overtime payments to the bone and will fully expect that if someone is paid to work for 7 hours, they do 7 hours work ( not 6 and quarter and bugger off home)
Best that will happen is some kind of pay off to everyone (union members or not) and the conditions will be rolled in over a number of years.
You do all realise that Royal Mail is run for the benefit of customers and not of the people doing the work dont you?

So all the big contract leave RM and go to DPD, We 'win' and Simon and the board follow to DPD to get the profits from there.
Everyone celebrates.
Back at RM, we are left with little to no work. Talks of redundancies happen and the company limps on for a year, But weve lost the trust of customers and no ones sending letters anymore, Under the new uso mail is cut to 3 days a week, Hardly anyone uses us for parcels in case we strike again over the enforced redundancies.
The only jobs out there for these people no matter how senior or how long they worked as posties are things like Tesco and Aldi at £10ph on rotating shifts between 5am and 10pm, you have no choice in times and days or if you want to work them or do overtime. Sick pay doesnt exsist.
You may say im trolling or mocking, but push the company and its customers too far and the above could easily be one form of reality.
This is why the union has to be a bit clever and moderate in actions.

Re: Dear union
And you do realise that at the minute Royal Mail isn't being run for the benefit of neither the customers OR the people doing the work but rather the people who you can't seem to see that are doing no wrong.. THE BOARD. Fs mate take your head out of wherever it seems to be stuck. Have you not even been living in the real world where just as recently as a couple of days ago the idiots running the company that you constantly defend awarded themselves shares equating to over a half a million quid each while we knock our pan's in daily and then lose money when we (not you) picket and stand up for our (and your) rights to be treated like the hard working, selfless grafters that we are. As you're fairly new to this job you sometimes spout crap that shows you're clueless but as someone is 25 years in the job I've seen loads of changes and most definitely will see more in years to come. Royal Mail will ALWAYS exist, just as it has for hundreds of years. I don't like things that have happened in years gone by or will disagree with things that are yet to come but one thing I know is that I will stand not only my ground for what I believe is right but also the ground of my colleagues and their families. I'll have never met anyone who is in this forum but I hope you all believe me when I say that I will fight 100% for you and with you all and always will. We are in this together (well at least the majority of us who have a strong moral compass!!) We WILL win and we WILL be better for it.

Under the takeover that may or may not happen whos to say that big contracts arent being sold to revivals, Parcelforce to DPD, gls to a prvivate equity firm, leaving RM as just a letters company that constantly loses money. Dont think if the gov take us over it will be any better, a 3 day week will surely follow if its a letter only company and people would loose jobs.
Of course I dont like the board, but a private company will always be out to make the most profit for its directors not the workers no matter who is on the board and thats a fight that will happen as long as RM continues to exsist, the damage was done before I even got here when the people who are fighting now turned thier backs and sold out for a few shares to line thier own nests. Your reaping what you have already sown on that one.

Re: Dear union
DPD have awful staff retention even worse than Royal Mail so do Evri and all the other courier companies so them been able to take a lot of Royal Mails work is optimistic.2yearpostie wrote: ↑04 Sep 2022, 14:26You do realise what the risk of 'bringing them to their knees' is dont you?

Just looked Aldi and Tesco do have sick pay admittedly inferior to Royal Mail. Both those companies don’t expect you to walk 10 plus miles a day in all weathers so that’s why we need to protect our sick pay.
I’m really not sure what you point is because somewhere else is crap to work so we should be the same. Remember Royal Mail doesn’t exist without it workers you can have as much technology as you want but you will always need a human to do the job.

Re: Dear union
The government won't take back RM, that is for sure. Loss making/letters declining faster than anytime before (apart from cheap discounted crap)/stiff competition for parcels/militant workforce etc. from their prospective it is fraught with problems, and they have bigger things to focus taxpayers money on. RM will be left to sink and go bust.
As for someone saying that they don't care about customers or workers - that is true - and that started when privatisation came in and it all became about the shareholders.

Re: Dear union
We all are!!! Why can't you see that? But why won't you stand up to them. You're more vulnerable as a minority than a majority!! If you were to lose your job here and then go elsewhere and the same happens there I'd guess you'd just do the same!!! Were you ever told to stand up to bullies by your parents? Because you're being bullied by the greatest of bullies!!!! On my walk yesterday you wouldn't believe how many windows had that wee CWU poster saying that they were standing by us and that they wanted no deliveries on strike days and fully support us. I find it incredible how the people who you spoke about earlier as being the most important (The customers) support us 100% but you yourself can't!!! It's very hypocritical.

That doesnt matter to our pay masters, They want you on the clock for all of your time no matter what your doing.mjd24 wrote: ↑04 Sep 2022, 15:09What if theyre doing more work in 6 and a quarter compared to if theyre made to “work” 7?2yearpostie wrote: ↑04 Sep 2022, 14:11We wont 'win'Frankie15 wrote: ↑04 Sep 2022, 13:46Then the union fight to get you more money and better work conditions. I guess when /if the new team takeover and are looking for job cuts, the who did/didnt strike list will be brought into play.
Im doing everything possible to keep on side with those who pay me, no matter if I dont agree with them or not.

Re: Dear union
Well it's the wrong team you're keeping on side with mate. The one's that pay you didn't give a s**t about you. I spoke to a manager after the strike the other day and they agreed with what we're doing. There's no point berating you any longer and trying make you to see sense. No matter how much people try to talk to you your mind is made up. You only care about yourself and not the 150,000 or whatever the amount was of colleagues that are fighting for YOU. One day you'll need the union or you'll need help from colleagues and that will be the day you finally see sense!!!

Last time I checked that's called blacklisting and unlawful.I guess when /if the new team takeover and are looking for job cuts, the who did/didnt strike list will be brought into play.
You really do like to post a lot of scaremongering bullshit on here.
If you're that frightened of shadows perhaps you should go find another job yourself, this one obviously has you in a state of perpetual terror.
You're a moral coward but that's fine, it's you who has to face yourself in the mirror not me but the bit that isn't fine is you coming on here trying to convince others that they are the people in the wrong and they should join your band of inadequacy just to make you feel better about yourself.
We can't have a thread on here now without you popping up and derailing it with the same old same old... and stop private messaging me with your lies and bullshit.
