Re: Update
They currently don't cover all duties day off in our office we are working with 50% staff on a Saturday and Monday every week so Tuesday a short day is a nightmare especially if we have d2ds. We come in on a Tuesday to prep the 3 days mail into the frame and do the d2ds we get out late and can usually only do 2/3 loops. Snowballs every week

Walsh couldn’t do 12.5% of my current delivery but will try tell us this is somehow good for us.tramssirhc wrote: ↑15 Mar 2026, 17:11Walsh will say it's 12.5%.Acca Dacca wrote: ↑15 Mar 2026, 16:52Its still 25% of walks/jobs gonehewittinspain wrote: ↑15 Mar 2026, 16:50In theory it is yes but there wouldn't be a swapping of duties AB Monday, Duties CD Tuesday and so on like the ODM.Acca Dacca wrote: ↑15 Mar 2026, 10:416 into 8 IS the exact same as 3 into 4hewittinspain wrote: ↑14 Mar 2026, 21:51The problem is the RM ODM and what the Union Want couldn't be more further apart, it's not saving anywhere near what they want and it's not actually much better than what the postie's are doing now. These owners are stubborn, I think it's highly unlikely they will go for anything like what the union want.
6 into 8 sounds realistic and still a big sh1t show as it doesn't seem any better than the ODM.![]()

Could we add a means of tagging users?
Martin? I understand it must be mentally draining coming down with a sugar crash from a days biscuits and tea, but the members who subsidise your position would like and update...
Even just a "productive week of talks, the company have made concessions in some places. We will update you in detail at XX:00 Monday"

Re: Update
Indeed. But they can only fail once. Management would prefer the big T24 contracts be placated and so the T48's get rolled over. From comments customers have made to me, T48 often seems to arrive a day early especially since the last Network Review.ted_e_bear wrote: ↑15 Mar 2026, 12:42That's been mentioned before but the extra 24 hours for a tracked 48 is already accounted for travelling through the system so when it arrives at the delivery office it's due for delivery that day not to be extended into a tracked 72, when they arrive at the do it's no less important than a T24
The machine stops.

Re: Update
The trials saw workers doing 100% over two days. It is one of the reason fatigue is so high.

Re: Update
Likely bouncing them out the door early due to all the mail not having to be sorted for the entire office meaning the delivery span is much longer and more of your hours are spent outdoors on foot and less indoorsWullie10 wrote: ↑16 Mar 2026, 11:33So they were made to work over their hours ?tramssirhc wrote: ↑16 Mar 2026, 11:00The trials saw workers doing 100% over two days. Royal mails grand plan has always involved less time sorting more time on the street
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

Re: Update
I often wondered what the issue was with people talking about fatigue as surely people were just working the same hours, roughly. If the office was now getting out on delivery an hour earlier for instance, this would equate to an hour extra walking outdoors each day.
Could anyone in a pilot office share the outdoor time they had before and after the pilot started.

Re: Update
I wouldn't put it past RM to eventually get small machines which can collate multiple D2Ds together.Acca Dacca wrote: ↑16 Mar 2026, 11:56Likely bouncing them out the door early due to all the mail not having to be sorted for the entire office meaning the delivery span is much longer and more of your hours are spent outdoors on foot and less indoorsWullie10 wrote: ↑16 Mar 2026, 11:33So they were made to work over their hours ?tramssirhc wrote: ↑16 Mar 2026, 11:00The trials saw workers doing 100% over two days. Re: Update
That's been in the pipeline for years. Plan was they'd turn up collated in envelopes. Still waiting for it to happen.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑16 Mar 2026, 13:05I wouldn't put it past RM to eventually get small machines which can collate multiple D2Ds together.Acca Dacca wrote: ↑16 Mar 2026, 11:56Likely bouncing them out the door early due to all the mail not having to be sorted for the entire office meaning the delivery span is much longer and more of your hours are spent outdoors on foot and less indoorsWullie10 wrote: ↑16 Mar 2026, 11:33So they were made to work over their hours ?tramssirhc wrote: ↑16 Mar 2026, 11:00The trials saw workers doing 100% over two days. Re: Update
The outdoor span is longer. Some are 5 to 5.30 outdoor. Call rates over 85%. Two days of 50% unaddressed mail. Martin Walsh couldn't do it yet told workers there was no other way to save jobs and there was no plan b. Ward and Walsh and every single full time release rep should be put on these duties to teach them a lesson.Wullie10 wrote: ↑16 Mar 2026, 11:33So they were made to work over their hours ?tramssirhc wrote: ↑16 Mar 2026, 11:00The trials saw workers doing 100% over two days.
