Which part of 14.35 is our clock out time are you not getting that is classed as our finish time so it's not an early scan out. Reply again if you want but I'm done explaining it and I'm not drawing a diagramSpacePhoenix wrote: ↑19 Feb 2024, 13:16There's no such thing as a "clock out time" with the SISO. It just sends a record of any sign in or sign out scans off to wherever they process the data. If you scan out at 14:35 the system will show you as finishing at 14:35. It doesn't record any reason for an early scan out.citypostie wrote: ↑19 Feb 2024, 13:11Not they are not, you don't know what you're talking about! Nobody is making 20 minutes, it's half their allowed break which they are allowed to take at the end of the duty, makes no difference that they are signing out 20 minutes before their time because the siso has been set with the finish time 20 minutes earlier to allow for the part of meal relief. So people are clocking off at the correct time not 20 minutes early. My finish time is 14.55 but the siso is set for a clock out time of 14.35 it's that simpleSpacePhoenix wrote: ↑19 Feb 2024, 12:23When your DO is next told to make savings, if you add up all them 20mins or however much time you're making every day, they're going to be told that they're having at least them hours taken out your DO.citypostie wrote: ↑19 Feb 2024, 11:01It doesn't cause an issue because it if factored into the siso times if that's the way do it in your office. Are you physically staying on site and not just scanning out and going home 20mins early? In the current climate I don't think it's going to be long before the higher ups start questioning COMs, MCMs and shift managers (in any MC or DO) about any occurrences of people finishing before their official finish time

Yes let's use up the bandwidth with inane discussions so anything of any importance can get lost among the pointless posts.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Re: New start times
Our start times have moved 20 mins forward but the finish times have jumped massively due to some new protocol that means we must take 20 mins break during our shift instead of adding it on at the end like we currently do. Be interesting to see what time the mail arrives now or if this is a big con…

Re: New start times
If there’s nowhere to take your break on delivery it might be worth driving back to your DO to take it… might force their hand even more.hans solo wrote: ↑19 Feb 2024, 10:57Same here
And it is over 7hrs per day 7hr 24min
If im finishig after 3 im going to be asking for full break in middle of day 20 mins early break no use you will have had breakfast already
And 20 min at the end no point
If everyone asked for break in middle of day they would change their agendas

Re: New start times
If you sign out 20 minutes before your finish time, you have finished your shift 20 minutes early.
It is assumed you have taken your full shift break BEFORE you sign out. If you haven't because you want an early dart, that's your own fault.
Pretty straightforward.

Re: New start times
How many offices are currently setup like this where you get to 'take' 20 minutes of your break at the end of the day....in other words, you can go home 20 minutes early instead of taking 20 minutes of your break during the working day. ?kazardaimenu wrote: ↑19 Feb 2024, 14:45Our start times have moved 20 mins forward but the finish times have jumped massively due to some new protocol that means we must take 20 mins break during our shift instead of adding it on at the end like we currently do. If they have now scrapped that with this latest change.....then yeah, they are trying to annoy us and get us to leave.

Re: New start times
We have people on 3 day weeks, people on 4 day weeks, people on family friendly - they all have different finish times to the main body of the office that works 5 days/week.
Then there are the newstarts on 40 hour contracts with a 1hour unpaid meal relief.
How does the machine know who is clocking out early?

Re: New start times
I don't know what the eff people are discussing in here....
but...
Some offices have agreements where posties essentially have a 20 minute break instead of a 40 minute total break, they can leave 20 minutes 'early' as part of their 'break'.....totalling 40 minutes.
It's setup this way, this is in agreement with Royal Mail, so they are NOT clocking out early.

Re: New start times
I'd love a move to some of your offices, we're getting a near 5pm finish 6 days a week. We're not even remotely rural either. How they accommodate those with family friendly requirements yet still insist the rest of the office needs to move later?

We're going an hour later
Still too early, was hoping for 9-5 or similar, but I'll take it.

The new contracts are 30 min unpaid meal relief (not 1hr)clashcityrocker wrote: ↑19 Feb 2024, 15:20We have people on 3 day weeks, people on 4 day weeks, people on family friendly - they all have different finish times to the main body of the office that works 5 days/week.

If they are getting 1hr blow this up immediatley as they are not entitled to it and we need to make the point that people voted for this deal.
