The poor postie must have been soaked, just joys of having to work between Christmas & New Year while everybody else is down the pub or watching Netflix 🤣
That'll be someone collecting stuff from the DO from now on (when the postie starts carding anything that doesn't go through the letter box really easily
Quite right too.

If the complainer could see the postie walking ‘yards’ in the pouring rain and then saw them struggling to ‘ram’ it through the door why didn’t they just open the door, give a friendly smile and take the offending item while wishing them all the best for 2024.

A huge majority of the general public really are idiots.
The day is gonna come when we’re all gonna have to testify.

"A huge majority of the general public really are idiots."

Very true! This was the biggest eye opener for me when I started on deliveries. Actually quite terrifying and explains allot.

Let’s hope he enjoys collecting his parcels from the callers office in the future.

Looking for a safeplace, and didn't find one. Then they complain if you don't leave it somewhere or tell you to leave it in shed and the back gate's locked or the shed is locked, you couldn't make it up.
Yesterday i had a leave in shed in back yard safeplace, gate not padlocked, but the bolt on the gate jammed like the gates of hades, P739 can't open back gate written on card along with details for redelivery.
And apparently we are the daft ones.

I particularly like customers who leave a big note telling couriers to LEAVE PARCEL ROUND THE BACK. And round the back there is no safe place and any prospective thief could simply walk off with the parcel. I'm sure a picture of the note behind the front window would be enough to cover yourself - but those who just tell you to do this via door cam, where's your evidence that this is what the customer said?
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

If a safeplace is not safe in your opinion, card them and f**k what everyone else thinks.

Oh ffs can't they manage to pull the flap down themselves?? Had a jobsworth yesterday who gave me a letter that was addressed for next door. It often happens when I'm flicking through a few days of mail. He was barely one metre away from posting it in the right letterbox himself but instead decided to shout me over from 400 yards away for me to post it instead.
Exact same situation. Plus the other poster situation too with bows over the f***ing letterbox. Also loose floor slates, hanging gates or gates you have to wrestle with, low letterboxes, low half letterboxes, low half letterboxes with tough gates and letterboxes that only let mail in once u find its g spot for fks sake

Thing is I bet the twat had it set so it alerted him that someone was at the door anyway so he could have spoken through it the same as if it had been rung, I tend to use them if it's a regular who I know will say stick it in the shed etc but if it's a special then no way,in that case they're no use to me if the person isn't in.

And pouches aren't waterproof anyway so even the stuff still in there is gradually getting wet anyway.

I propose only going out on delivery when it isn’t raining. It is daft though that RM haven’t even attempted to address the issue. I get it, the bundle you are working from is always going to get wet, but some kind of waterproofing for the pouches can’t be that difficult surely? Rain isn’t a new thing, yet they haven’t even tried really.

We’ve got yellow plastic lining to put in the pouch if it’s raining..they are few and far between though.
