In hindsight the last update should gave said "we hope to update you within the next 24hrs".

None of us know what has gone on behind the scenes since the last update, but surely there must have been some kind of movement for the non communication to happen and confidentiality has kicked in.

Either way going forward the union really does need to learn from its mistakes during this and previous disputes regarding its communications and Webby in particular has made mistakes.
If ACAS says no comms, what can they do?
Yet another weekend to go through with lots of members going through mental distress. I would love to walk away an forget about it all but after 28 yrs service what else is there out there.

Mental distress, are you sure? because of no information.
I agree that us senior people are stuck here until we retire, as we know nothing else.
When you have the business steamrolling ahead with the changes they want and the union remaining silent on it? Yeah there are going to be distressed about it. It's been nearly a full year of attacks. The recent feeling of members is possibly union just giving empty threats of strike action and constantly failing to act on what they say makes members feel like it's getting them nowhere but blowing smoke up their asses. They literally said things can't go on like this by end of this week. If they come out of this update with nothing, it's going to piss even more people off.

When in the past has there been a running commentary on the negotiations?
What's the point?
When there's an agreement we will see it and we'll all get a chance to vote on it, not the Chinese whispers.
The only beneficiary of a running commentary is RM. They would then just tailor their offer to what effectively would be a popularity contest from the reaction on social media and tie the hands of the CWU negotiating team!
The point is they are continually saying one thing then doing nothing
If you tell the members who you work for and pay your large salaries you will update - THEN DO IT or simply say sorry little bit longer

They wonder why members are so pissed of with the CWU right now

I'm not pissed off! I understand the complexity of the talks and comms might not always be possible.
You're playing into Royal Mail's hands, with your constant whinging like little children. It's embarrassing.

Nonsense.
The CWU are pushing us towards RM with this crap.
All they had to say was “apologies (something else they’ve never said by the way) there won’t be an update today but we’ll explain all next week”
That would have done . To say nothing at all boggles the mind at the levels of sheer incompetence and disregard for us.
They either don’t understand our feelings or do and just don’t give a s**t.

So according to the reps they have been told that documents have been exchanged and the PEC will meet on Monday. Surely this means that a deal has been possibly been agreed and the PEC will look through the documents and decide what happens next?

Ok, so you may not be pissed off about it. But when your union makes a written undertaking to update its members within a specified timeframe and then fails to do so regardless of the reason, that’s not good enough, that’s a lack of basic decency and courtesy. Complaining about this does not make people whinging children. Ffs

You’ve heard the old saying: “don’t make promises that you can’t keep”………..obviously the CWU haven’t!

Exactly. An update would have only taken one or two minutes on Facebook and we would have been OK with that.

My opinion. Take it or leave it. We are just being conditioned to accept a pretty poor deal. RM are pushing it through the Union realise it the more fed up the people get over it the more likely we will just be happy to take it.
