Today is the pivotal day in negotiations with Royal Mail Group.
A number of issues remain outstanding and we are seeking to resolve them.
It is important that CWU members do exactly what you have done for the last year - ignore the noise and positioning from management and continue to stand ready to back your union.
If we can reach an agreement, it will then be considered by our Postal Executive and ultimately be subject to a full membership ballot. We don’t need lessons on democracy from an employer that has relentlessly and deliberately chosen imposition over agreement.
We will update you fully within the next 24 hours. We came into this dispute together. We will come out of it together.

When in the past has there been a running commentary on the negotiations?
What's the point?
When there's an agreement we will see it and we'll all get a chance to vote on it, not the Chinese whispers.
The only beneficiary of a running commentary is RM. They would then just tailor their offer to what effectively would be a popularity contest from the reaction on social media and tie the hands of the CWU negotiating team!

If you promise to communicate then communicate workers union

As Dave said, there is a minority of Royal Mail senior managers who don't want a deal, and they tried to show power by pulling out of talks last week.
There are some who want a deal, and that is why talks continue. Acas are still involved, so they hold the card into who says what.
Be patient. I know it's hard, but I believe the Union is doing the best they can.

The point is they are continually saying one thing then doing nothing
If you tell the members who you work for and pay your large salaries you will update - THEN DO IT or simply say sorry little bit longer
They wonder why members are so pissed of with the CWU right now

I'm not pissed off! I understand the complexity of the talks and comms might not always be possible.
You're playing into Royal Mail's hands, with your constant whinging like little children. It's embarrassing.

Ok, so you may not be pissed off about it. But when your union makes a written undertaking to update its members within a specified timeframe and then fails to do so regardless of the reason, that’s not good enough, that’s a lack of basic decency and courtesy. 100% yes an i am not the only one. not just no info this has now dragged on for a year an no-one knows where its going to end had a bad bout of depression last year got over it eventually but with this s**t show now slowly coming back. so please believe me when i say it.

Doing their very best in what way by torturing their own paying members by telling us f--k all.of course an update is needed. rem their statement on thurs morn at 10-39am we will fully update you in 24hrs.now well past that yet another sensible,delicate, pivotal moment gone beyond a joke now.

I think what's happened is that they all probably went out for a wet lunch and just forgot to send an update. Probably a few sore heads this morning. Hopefully after a few alka-seltzers and no doubt hair of dog they'll get back on the Twitter and give us plebs an update.
