I don’t remember a decent board and CEO in all my time.Ppat98 wrote: ↑28 Jan 2023, 10:29This isn't a instance in which you can say your not taking side's. Choosing to strike or not to strike is a binary decision (no middle ground) & not striking is in Rm's interests.FilthyBloke wrote: ↑28 Jan 2023, 09:00
Yeah he’s been caught out. He’s not a nice guy. ST should go.
I don’t see it as taking sides as such as the only side I’m taking is my own.
I’m not a member of the CWU and all I’m going to do is look after my own interests.
If the job no longer becomes suitable for me I will look for one that is.
I'm leaving in less than a year so not gonna affect me I the long run. Wouldn't be ok with my colleagues sacrificing salary while I cash in though.
So you recognize Thompson & the board are no good. Are you not striking just to cash in then?
I’m in it for myself. Selfish, maybe, but you know in my workplace we have someone who’s been arrested for a racist attack, a guy who beat up his first wife, another who was involved in a drink drive incident and plenty who take illegal substances. I don’t consider these guys my colleagues or comrades or people who I am fighting in solidarity with.
Like I keep saying, I applied for the job because it was right for me. Over the years the job has changed but it’s still ideal for me. Even with the new changes it will probably still be the most available job out there for me.
You CWU members have voted to strike. I don’t get a say in that but The CWU don’t pay my bills. I do.
The people who now ignore me, well I ignore them as well. It’s no problem to me.
I could go on in detail why I’m so detached from the CWU and the militant posties but i doubt anyone wants to listen. So each to their own.
