Ward and Pullinger looked totally bereft of ideas the other night, it took them an hour to say that they'd sent a letter to RM. This level of resistance from the board has not been seen before. One thing is for sure though, it is NOT going to end pretty - that's of course if it ends at all. But however it ends up, the dressing room is well and truly lost for good. Fact.

Short of getting the workforce to withdraw their labour via a strike, they cannot do much else, if Super Si and Co are going to steam roller ahead with executive action, and snub their requests for talks, W & P can do little else. I agree with Pullinger's stance on not working to rule, there are so many different ways this could be interpreted and conduct codes would be applied like confetti, to the delight of the board.

Neither side will win this dispute. Sadly.

It’s time to do more than just an odd day strike here and there and Simon Thompson post absolute shite on his accounts saying no more electrics vans were pulling them away we can’t afford it and your new uniforms are now not being provided -
Instead of these two day farce strikes and it being cleared after a day or two this guys messing with our jobs and our life’s and we’re standing back waiting for him to steam roll us.

Well said,i actually believe this strike is like no other for the attacks they are making i think the only way to win is an all out strike,if it doesn't work we might as well all look for other jobs anyway or stay poor and die on the job.

Or what about this for an idea. All out strike until Xmas, but make it clear to members that they can pick and choose when to work, so people who can afford to stay out do so, but for people who need some income, then they work 1,2,3,4 days a week but when they choose and no overtime!

This is the worst situation we have ever been in and we need to use the time between now and Xmas most effectively!

This is mental but actually really interesting to me haha I’d love to see this play out! Basically you can just not turn up whenever you want and leave them in the sh*t, or each office could just say “today we don’t turn up Friday” or whatever, any odd day you need no problem!

Exactly, that’s the idea. Just turn up when you need to. I can survive for 12 weeks without any wage. I know some people can do longer, however I know some people struggle without working overtime. Let’s stick together, support each other where we can, and get rid of the simple ones at the top

.....but that is either unofficial IA or a work to rule that has not been balloted (action short of a strike). The business will force the CWU to condemn the approach (or face bankruptcy via the courts) and individuals will then be in breach of contract with no union support. Suicide......and plenty of people won't do it leaving those that do out in the cold.

If the union call us out on strike every day, that is legal until the 17th February. If people choose to work on any individual day then that is there choice, and as Royal Mail say they should not be intimidated or bullied not to work. I really can’t see the issue?

The risk for the union is as more and more offices have executive action forced upon them , what's the point of the union ?

When push comes to shove if they can't or don't know how to win the fight then royal mail have got what they want and any future disputes they just repeat the process.

Royal Mail wouldn’t know who would turn up and when. So for example I would work Tuesday and Friday, my mate is doing well and would just work Mondays, my other mate who has just had a baby needs the money so he will work Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. People would still have annual leave, people could go sick if they have covid symptoms or stomach bugs. It would be absolute carnage

The sickening thing is they were already extremely wealthy before they dragged their putrid bodies round the table. Just look at thompsons accumulative wealth. They won't back down as we can only make miniscule dents to their blood soaked pockets. The very worst that can ever happen to them is a golden goodbye.

We are the Union mate. It's not about "The CWU Vs Royal Mail". It's about our livelihoods. Our ability to support our families, and the quality of our home lives.

We have to fight because our quality of life will be destroyed by our employer if we don't. There's no choice, apart from choosing your side.

Between strikes just work your paid hours, take your breaks, decline any offer of overtime.

That, and a little patience, a good dollop of courage, plus Royal Mail management's total wrecking of the job, will ensure victory in the end.

And with Christmas fast coming up on the rails, the end could be sooner than we think.

What we cannot do, should not do, is talk ourselves into abject surrender. We would be well and truly facked for sure then.
