It’s time to do more than just an odd day strike here and there and Simon Thompson post absolute shite on his accounts saying no more electrics vans were pulling them away we can’t afford it and your new uniforms are now not being provided -
Instead of these two day farce strikes and it being cleared after a day or two this guys messing with our jobs and our life’s and we’re standing back waiting for him to steam roll us.

Suspect they'll wait until after the Queen's funeral to announce more dates. Sensible from a PR point of view I suppose.

I's like to see 6 days of staggered strikes, so each of us only loses 2 days pay, but the whole company is crippled for a week.

Or what about this for an idea. All out strike until Xmas, but make it clear to members that they can pick and choose when to work, so people who can afford to stay out do so, but for people who need some income, then they work 1,2,3,4 days a week but when they choose and no overtime!

This is the worst situation we have ever been in and we need to use the time between now and Xmas most effectively!

It's just Simple Simon playing the only card he has left FEAR! if he was winning i'd expect him to be a lot more louder, confident, and displaying that in media content. If the Queen hadn't tragically passed away, a two day strike would of had shareholders thinking about a vote of no confidence

A lot has been already said about what we should do or shouldn't do. I still believe cwu has a plan and we should be a little more patient. Especially around the sad events of the Queens passing away. I keep asking myself one question though. Is this dispute winnable? I believe less and less so.
Royal Mail in my opinion is dead set on destroying the job, stripping very little benefits we have left and pay us peanuts at the same time adding more and more work. It has been nearly 2months since we have announced strikes dates and we have made zero progress I even doubt if they are talking to each other. Instead we are all out of pocket and battered by the backlog that comes in like a tsunami through delivery offices. I am not sure if it wouldn't be wiser to stop this striking and carry on working while it lasts and actively start looking for alternative employment. I am not sure these strikes have achieved anything. I didn't grab Simon's attention, didn't seem to upset shareholders, didn't really crash the share price. Disruption to service are serious and very visible but if Simon doesn't care about it what difference does it make? I can't believe we haven't moved from the point where we were before it all started.

I know it may anger a lot of colleagues working from mail centres but I honestly believe that delivery staff should be paid a proper supplement or in fact a slightly higher wage to reflect how demanding the job become. It is very rare that people from mail centre transfer to delivery offices but it is pretty common the other way around. Deliveries are so hard now that I challenge any indoor staff to have a crack if he or she disagree whether deliveries should attract a premium or not over indoor roles.

No chance that would work even if some people could afford to stay off some would still come in they would see others working even if only for 3/4 days and think f**k that im not losing money if they aint

I don’t believe the cwu has a decent plan. I think all they want is to prolong the dispute until their pseudo political party has its event on October the first. We should be all out and have an overtime ban.

The point is... we're gonna lose a lot more money pi**ing about losing money every other week for the next few months than we could be if we were applying maximum pressure in the short term. I'll guarantee you that a significant number of staff will start to filter back to work on strike days when this rolls on over Christmas. I'm happy to lose a bigger chunk NOW and get this thing resolved. I'm not the only one.

After watching that 'critical/urgent' CWU thing the other night, I have lost confidence in the union. It was an abysmal performance from Pullinger and Ward as they offered nothing new, just an hour of waffle lacking any coherent idea or plan, oh apart from they had sent a letter FFS, wow fu****g wee, is that what we pay our union subs for, pathetic!

A side point to this, all those who are saying we should strike as much as it takes to 'win'. Firstly, I do agree with you, but comments such as 'lets hurt Simon Thompson and co. as much as we can', really, who will be hurting most as time goes on with no sign of them getting together to talk, its not Thompson and his vile cronies. And, NO, Im not advocating not striking, but the CWU looked clueless and useless the other night.

Think about it, we arent hurting Thompson or his management hierarchy cronies at all as they can walk tomorrow with their self administered extra shares, insulting pay packets and bonuses having made them financially secure for life, they dont need Royal Mail as they have made themselves very wealthy at our expense. It is disgusting how they are treating us and a 500 plus year old organisation with all its history and heritage etc.

I cant help feeling that the union hasnt got a clue how to deal with these, almost daily it seems, executive actions on our terms and conditions etc etc etc. I hope im proved wrong, but we arent hurting Thompson and co at all in this, they are now very wealthy at our expense and they dont give a sh*t about us!
