I have followed up on your post and can confirm that the Annual Leave pick process will take place as normal this year, and we would expect managers and their teams to complete the process over the coming months as normal.

All the CWU have been advised that where this had been raised and was being planned in, it has been removed and the Annual Leave (A/L) Pick Process to be undertaken through Sept/Oct 2022 for the 2023/24 A/L year will be undertaken as normal.

Goes without saying that the strikes will have more impact closer to Christmas, the Union won't want people to be losing shed loads of money in the months leading up to it or the will to strike/lose money before Christmas will be weak.

The company don't seem fussed about us striking right now so there's no point hammering everyone's wages for no reason, keep it ticking over til the Christmas rush begins then go hard.

when i showed the area rep on our union forum last night, it was like going to ''defcon 1'' in a matter of minutes. he txt the divrep and he got in touch with HQ. then me phone started pinging every few seconds. i think RM were testing the water to see if they could pull it off......no F*****g chance.

Its too late we have picked ours,im off those weeks next year no matter what ,ive booked my holidays now.

Well you've got 2 options-

1) hope we win our fight against Royal Mail
2) hope that RM / your manager will be gracious enough to honour pre-booked leave

The gap between strikes was deliberately made so RM could come back to the table for talks if they wished. Clearly things have gone the opposite way so I would imagine strike dates will come thick and fast if they waste this opportunity. It also takes us nearer to peak.

Yes i know ,but its time to start announcing more ,the train union have ,the CWU always one step behind,2 week noticed required so we need them this week to carry on momentum not just strike for 2 days wait a few weeks then worked to death to catch up then another 2,doing it this way is killing the workforce ,2 days every week in October needed then everyone gets a chance to miss one,personally id say every Wednesday and Thursday.

I have had my first three picks confirmed for 2023-24. Although I am not contracted for Sunday working, the weeks off now show Sunday as one of my days off. Is this in case of executive action being forced through for Sunday working? It appears so
