RMCtv : This is why we are going under!

Post by POSTMAN »

Andy Chatburn
Commercial Product & Proc Improvemnt Mgr at Royal Mail Group

You may be interested to hear - that every COM will be asked to complete a D2D Product Training Course very soon - some key upskilling and reminders of the key processes. We need to improve our D2D quality to grow the product and income.

If we eliminate 'returns' and deliver every item it also will have a big environmental benefit too. Understand it's difficult if failing walks - but our customers expect every item to be delivered and some units are doing this brilliantly. Just need all to understand this and introduce controls in order to do so.

P.S. Currently working on a short 'On Demand' video for all front line staff too!

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

This is pretty much admitting your managers are f***ing useless.

The key process is it gets delivered.

If you need to be upskilled to know that you probably shouldn't be in charge of a Surface Pro.

What’s the “big environmental benefit” it will have if they are all delivered?

I have signed both our COMs up for this course.
They attempted to send 13 yorks of undelivered D2D back to the MC. The MC sent them straight back.
(I am struggling to find any environmental benefit in that.)

From a purely environmental viewpoint I would actually suggest that it's more sustainable if we just send the whole lot back without delivering them.

That way they don't end up in the wrong landfill bins and don't need to be segregated at the recycling centre.

Also it would discourage the sender from repeat offending.

If you're going to greenwash you really should think about it a little harder first.

Just saying.

They'll always be sent straight back to the DO, RM brought that in a good few years ago

Royal Mail should be above delivering that garbage.

Garbage is what D2D is.

We know it.

They know it.

And more importantly, the customer knows it.

And by customer, I don't mean the w*****s who produce the garbage, I mean the poor sods whose doormats we litter with the damn things.

As a new postie, just over 2 months now and I'm shocked we need to deliver this much rubbish. I also feel the way d2ds are setout on the frame can lead to delivery mistakes. I would have thought they be easier to deliver 1 or 2 streets at a time rather than missing some doors in the street due to the way the frame is setup.

We do. In fact they tell us to put D2D in the frame FIRST, before any letters

That just makes it longer to prep and tie up

We are paid to deliver things why is that hard for some posties to understand D2D is a big income for RM it helps pay our wages.
