I am 60 in a few weeks. RMPP wrote several months ago asking for details of my other pensions, but have only just written with my options. Having heard nothing at all from RMSPS/Capita, I rang them today. It was an atrocious phone line, but I gathered my options would arrive in 10-15 days, even if they emailed them(!) That only leaves 2 weeks for me to consider my options, reply and for them to process everything. I will chase them up with an email tomorrow.
These timelines seem rather tight; is it normal at the moment due to covid/wrong POL pay figures/whatever? Just wondered if anyone else had similar experiences?
Silly me thinking that with several decades of warning, they could get everything organised in good time for the due date
FYI: I rang RMSPS again today. Got a much more helpful operator and a clear phone line.
She said my papers had been printed and should be sent in the next day or so. (Isn't it a coincidence that they print the letter the day I ring up and chase it?) I asked this one if she could email the documents to me so that I could read them while waiting for the post and she said "Sure". Arrived in 5 minutes.
Apparently it causes delay if, like me, you are dealing with both RMPP and RMSPS.

The delay is wholly with Capita. For someone like yourself who has pensions in both schemes the age related process is initially started by RMPP who send a flag to Capita that you are approaching your 60th birthday and to start the RMSPS process. From memory this flag is sent electronically 17 weeks before your 60th birthday. I had problems with my NRA60 2 years ago and it was paid 3 months late. It sounds like nothing has changed for the better in those 2 years.
