Wouldn't it be better to run it like the old 'dead mail' concept we had years ago? In other words just carry on as we are but if at the delivery office if there is only one item of DSA in the slot for an address we leave it until there is more mail next day?
Yes it would, you could still be going there with packets anyway.

Are you saying that there are DO's who are not already unofficially doing this?

This whole concept confuses me, not having any experience of how these machines operate.
But here goes-
First wave of sequenced we get might have I'd say 250 items in a tray.
2nd anywhere between 50-100.
Now loose mail walk sorted on stack there will most days be over double that amount.
So call me stupid, but the clever machine might throw back a single item on day 1, but most likely you will be going with hand sorted.
Day 2 the machine releases the mail, perhaps you don't have have hand sorted that day- you're going to the same house 2 days running where before you're only going on day 1.
Half the time we get some kind of bulk posting anyway, tonnes of go outdoors/screwfix/matalan etc that all comes loose.
That's even before you think about going to an address with a packet anyway.
I mean wtf??
They're selling the new revision on this concept, and that that it will save us time on delivery.
Someone please tell me how.
