Re: rumours
Seen quite a few posts about having to work later on Saturday, I don’t know what that’s all about. I assume with clocking in/out machines there’ll be no more Saturday flyers.
The day is gonna come when we’re all gonna have to testify.

Re: rumours
Someone on the union Facebook post said they hope average holiday pay is part of the agreement but that looks like a standalone issue, not seen anything from Martin on here, Terry/Dave or anyone else in the union to suggest it’s been part of the talks. Which would be a shame.

Re: rumours
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Re: rumours
The issue of average pay will be settled at the tribunal. We have test cases in the Bristol Tribunal.
Royal Mail only wanted a settlement based on discounting some areas of voluntary overtime or working. Clearly the CWU believe this has been tested already in the high court.
So no this was not part of the original dispute and will be decided in the tribunal and than will be subject to an overall agreement.

You haven’t been in job very long I presume, as you would know we always get to vote on offers. Also how can you say you will vote no, without knowing what you disagree with???TheTrolleyMan wrote: ↑19 Dec 2020, 20:00I hope we get a vote on the offer , it'll be a big feck off no from me whatever I'm offered

Re: rumours
It is a disgrace, just like the pro-rata Christmas bonus for those of us that have contributed loads more than some of our colleagues but got less bonus for the sole reason that our contracted hours are lower than full time.

Re: rumours
Part timers are always left. Shouldn't the union help them out more anyway? They want more members and votes then start working for all our colleagues.

Re: rumours
I don’t really understand why the holiday back pay winds people up soo much. When I started on a 20 hour contract I knew that I’d only get 20 hours while on holiday. It’s what I signed up to. I worked a lot more hours than that but I still knew that was how it was. Also knowing I could only work 20 hours a week if I wanted. Yes I know managers try and bully u etc to do more but u could just do 20 hours if I wanted. Also if your contract gets moved up to full time over Xmas period then u do get the full bonus, u just get the extra bit in January.

Re: rumours
You maybe fine with what you signed up for. But are you really fine losing money you would of had as you know you would of worked more than your contract as usual if you weren't on holiday?
I had a colleague on a 20hr contract, never did he work them hours. He always worked 38/39 hours. Imagine his 4 wk holiday entitlement how much he would lose out per year. Is that right?
If RM need part timers like this then hire them as a full timer end of. We all know they save bucket loads because of this.

In Pullingers case, probably to look at a few holiday brochures to plan his winter break. Keep the subs rolling in lads!!Woody Guthrie wrote: ↑19 Dec 2020, 23:38Martin Walsh wrote: ↑19 Dec 2020, 19:48The issue of average pay will be settled at the tribunal.
