I'm not sure but i know they will have something in place to be able to tell. It could have an option when you clock in for you to tell the system you have been asked to come in early? For example a drop down menu with an option "early start" and the DOM can authorize it and youll be paid or something similar.. maybe :D2yearpostie wrote:Well i do get to asked to come in early to do double prep on top of my normal hours, wonder how the machine will work out if im just an 'in early' person or an 'asked to come in early to work' person?TheoF95 wrote:2yearpostie wrote:Im a reserve and for the last 3 years no one senior has been able to tell me what my actual start and finish times are,as it varies depending which walk im put on. How do i go on with the new clock machines do i just need the dom to tell me whats needed? I cant be the only one on this kind of contract?
I don't know how it works in your office but i'm also on a 25 hour contract, my job listing said 9:00-14:00. I work for rurals (SPDO's). I go between 18 different units. I claim the hours of the duty and adjust my start and finish times to match. So for example if i cover a walk in 1 office that is 7:00 - 14:36 i will claim 2:36 OT and start at 7:00 and claim extended if i go over or cut off if you don't want it. I don't think we have an official start time, it all depends on the walk you are covering but it will be different everywhere and i can imagine its different in the big offices.
Is your 5 hours for delivery only? if so then your start time will be the time your DOM tells you to start as long as your hours are between 7 & 3.. maybe.

Even if you did genuinely hear what you claim you hear, which you didnt, you would think after the 10th bit of nonsense information didnt come to fruition you would stop posting it on here and getting people worried about nothing.

Im sorry, i dont recall you being at my unit or in the managers office with me when these things were said to me, so how can call me a liar?, If you bothered to search around the forum you would see that there are plenty of others on here who have been told to use there car or work afternoons, it might not have happened in your office for some reason but that doesnt mean mean the person passing on information is a liar or troll, it also dont give you the right to continually harass me whenever i ask for advice or post on here what is happening in my area, so piss off and leave me alone. if you were doing this in the workplace youd be dragged in for bullying and possibly sacked.Acca Dacca wrote:All you are doing is alerting them to your trolling2yearpostie wrote:Keep em coming, each one is getting reported to the mods as a personal attack.Acca Dacca wrote:Makes up nonsense on here every single weektoonshola wrote:Ah another one of your fantasy conversations with higher management. From another thread, because 'i tell lies'
https://www.royalmailchat.co.uk/communi ... 75#p914575" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
On top of that, I’m stuck on afternoon shifts since van share ended – DOM told me I should look for another job if I can’t work afternoons and my contract doesn’t specify any hours of work. Which means that I’ll soon be delivering this walk in the dark, and it really isn't a safe walk to do in the dark.

Second of all, if you went to anyone with what ive posted on this thread you'd get laughed back out the office
Third of all - you are quite the snowflake for a Trump supporter. I'd hate to see you put up with anything resembling REAL bullying.
Anyway im done with this thread and you - if it keeps you happy I will ignore all your future postings.

Tell your manager that you don't know what time you will finish every day, and it's becoming a problem. You need to know your finish time. Tell him you'd like it in writing. If he doesn't know, he will find out.2yearpostie wrote:Im a reserve and for the last 3 years no one senior has been able to tell me what my actual start and finish times
For the six years I was a reserve, I had a start and finish time. I started the same time no matter what duty I was on. Sometimes it was a problem, on van share a partner would want to know why I was in 'late' and we were supposed to be out by then. This is my start time, I would say, if you have a problem, see the manager.
If the hours of some duties mean that by the end of the week you owe, or are owed, hours, then you shouldn't be doing those duties.

Back on topic.
I’m in a similar situation. On a 25 hour contract (5 days), but my start time is usually 7.25/7.30/8 etc as I do morning OT. I have seen my OT being recorded and from that it looks like my actual hours are 10 till 3 Monday, Tuesday, Saturday and 10.25 till 3.25 the rest of the week.
As for the clocking in machines being able to tell, I’ve no idea how it will work. That’s for higher up to sort and if it cocks up and I’m incorrectly paid I’ll simply clock in at my actual start time (10 or 10.25) and have a nice quiet working week. Makes no difference to me.
