To a certain extent this is speculation, but I see no reason why anything would change from what we can do with our AVC funds now, should they close to future investment from 1st April 2018:Decky Boy wrote:It's all still a little unclear to me what we will be able (or allowed) to do with our AVC pots after 1st of April 2018... can I transfer them into my Personal Pension... will "the pot" be frozen till I'm 55 (but continue to grow in line with the markets ?) ... I guess really we should stop speculating... and wait for some concrete correspondence from Zurich ? ? ?
Who knows... it may be that we can continue with the Flexi Plan ?
1. The money can still be used to fund the tax free lump sum from the RMPP.
2. Values will still rise and fall depending on the investments within the fund/s you’re invested in.
3. The money can still be transferred between the existing Zurich funds.
4. The money can still be accessed from 55 independently of the main RMPP benefits.
5. It can be transferred into a personal pension if you wish, as now. But you’ll potentially be giving up its 100%tax free status, assuming your AVC’s equal 25% or less of your overall RMPP pension value.
RM will decide whether AVC’s will continue or not, Zurich are just the investment platform.
