Zurich website updates

Decky Boy wrote:It's all still a little unclear to me what we will be able (or allowed) to do with our AVC pots after 1st of April 2018... can I transfer them into my Personal Pension... will "the pot" be frozen till I'm 55 (but continue to grow in line with the markets ?) ... I guess really we should stop speculating... and wait for some concrete correspondence from Zurich ? ? ?

Who knows... it may be that we can continue with the Flexi Plan ?
To a certain extent this is speculation, but I see no reason why anything would change from what we can do with our AVC funds now, should they close to future investment from 1st April 2018:

1. The money can still be used to fund the tax free lump sum from the RMPP.
2. Values will still rise and fall depending on the investments within the fund/s you’re invested in.
3. The money can still be transferred between the existing Zurich funds.
4. The money can still be accessed from 55 independently of the main RMPP benefits.
5. It can be transferred into a personal pension if you wish, as now. But you’ll potentially be giving up its 100%tax free status, assuming your AVC’s equal 25% or less of your overall RMPP pension value.

RM will decide whether AVC’s will continue or not, Zurich are just the investment platform.

The only difference from last Saturday's number to now is the AVC payment credited to my account otherwise exactly the same as last Saturday pm figure. So it looks as if the investment values are only updated weekly (probably sometime late this Friday) but I could be wrong on that.
Slight change reflecting a small rise in FTSE this week when I checked just now, Friday 10pm. So it does indeed look as though the Zurich site only updates the numbers once a week sometime Friday pm :thumbup

Yes - its definitely changed then. A few months back it was every day. Thanks for your update Beamish.

I'll tell you the problem I have with this - transparency. It might seem like I'm splitting hairs but that money is my money. Zurich are the custodians of my money - not by choice I might add. And I want to know how my money is performing whilst under the care of Zurich - they owe me that much. They are after all making a living off the back of my/our money - we are doing them the favour, not the other way around.

It is trivial in this day and age to give realtime updates - the question becomes, why wouldn't they provide it ?

It might not bother most people - it does me unfortunately. There is massive scope for abuse here - and its like my Grandad used to say, 'Where theres money theres twisting'
