It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been. My BFF Clash The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Please can someone explain to the CWU bosses that to join the union and pay the 7.95 per month as a casual we actually need to be paid by Angard in the first place, otherwise the direct debit for said union fee's would bounce - same as all the other direct debits for gas, electric, mortgage ect
It asks for hours worked but mine can be nothing one week, up to 30-40 the next week and anything else in between. No idea if I will get any hours at any point as I am called in on an as and when basis.
So fundamental questions:
What are the subscriptions for membership for Angard staff - will it vary depending on hours worked?
What benefit is there in actually joining?

But as far as I can work it out from 31 March its going to 0.98p outside the Political Fund and 1.28p inside(per week)

Yes I have seen that, but it does not give you an option of entering zero hours, so is no good for any Angard employees (it starts at "up to 10 hrs")

Zero hours would be "up to 10 hours" wouldn't it.

Zero hours would be "up to 10 hours" wouldn't it.
It could be. Zero is certainly less than 10. But then again the next week I could be working 30+ ( it has been that for the last month I'm happy to say, but next week who knows ?)
Surely someone on here with Angard must be in the union ?
I have just had an email from the CWU. The monthly fee is £5.12 for those on a zero hour contract. Which seems a good deal to me considering what you get, so I joined up.
or 98p and £1.28 ?
