Well that would be a closed shop then, now who made that illegal.The Tories are looking at introducing laws setting new minimum turnout thresholds for strike ballots on the basis that they can only be lawful disputes if a majority of those being called out on strike have voted for it in a ballot. In the case of the Royal Mail dispute there was a clear majority for the strike among those voting, but not among the total workforce.
There was a slim but absolute majority of CWU members voting for the strike and the Cons ignore this, if they want the whole workforce to vote then the whole workforce has to be in the Union - ergo a closed shop.
Joined up thinking - give me a rest they cant even see how far out of touch they are and they should be named the Criminal Class not the Political Class.
