Thanks for (some!) of your welcoming messages.
The site is more consumer based than staff based, but we welcome posts from RM employees. I have my own opinions on the strikes - it is damaging my small business immensely.
However, I feel the blame for the poor service recently is to be placed with RM management (not necessarily the postal workers) although occasionally the CWU seems just as bad! A key question I have asked has been:
Why does management refuse to pay overtime to clear the backlog, when its a zero-sum game? It could also be countered however that on occasion
some postal workers work to rule on return from a strike exacerbating the situation.
In any case, the continuance of the disagreement/conflict has long term negative impacts for the business. Both parties lose out horribly in this situation. Worse still, the customers stand to lose an organisation that was previously commited to high standards of customer service.
