It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

"Sense of humour" blah blah "my little joke " blah blah. You know the usual comments.
Why welcome someone who appears to want to criticise RM (and obviously it's staff?) Can't we do that on our own?

Anyway, you think I'm wrong in some way? Wall-to-wall whining about RM, so this "person" should fit in well.

Welcome Mailhater - I don't know what orientation your site will take - whether from an employee or customer perspective but I have duplicated a recent post of mine on this site to you to see if it gets the ball rolling. I don't think it will roll very far however until you build up your membership. Good luck with that - whatever your intentions :Very Happy

Thanks for (some!) of your welcoming messages.

The site is more consumer based than staff based, but we welcome posts from RM employees. I have my own opinions on the strikes - it is damaging my small business immensely.

However, I feel the blame for the poor service recently is to be placed with RM management (not necessarily the postal workers) although occasionally the CWU seems just as bad! A key question I have asked has been:

Why does management refuse to pay overtime to clear the backlog, when its a zero-sum game? It could also be countered however that on occasion some postal workers work to rule on return from a strike exacerbating the situation.

In any case, the continuance of the disagreement/conflict has long term negative impacts for the business. Both parties lose out horribly in this situation. Worse still, the customers stand to lose an organisation that was previously commited to high standards of customer service.

Thats a fair start. I got two questions for now.
When people order your gear how many demand it for free? And how many of those requests do you comply with?

Welcome MailHater :wave Though I would love to participate in your forum I feel I have to decline, we get enough postie bashing at work off the management and I'm sure your forum will be no different for us.
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets

I think the forum can work from an educational standpoint - it doesn't need to be all about postie bashing. The site is a result of my frustration with the company, not with postmen!
