Still have to write on the cards where the parcel is for people not online!
And how are we supposed to know that?
Just have a nose though their window to see if there's any signs of a computer?

Joking apart how long will it be before the PDA's crash as they are already struggling just taking photos since they moved the location distance from 70m to 50m?

So forgive me for being stupid, but this means we are going to need to scan both the parcel and the qr code on card to link the 2?

Don't worry, there will be a 2 hour WTLL meeting about it on your busiest day of the week, and some knobhead will have 50 million questions to ask !

But we don’t dump their parcels on the doorstep/ in plain view :left:
Most of our new starters do!
And whose fault is that - the newbies?
or the managers who tell them to doorstep?
Or the company’s for giving them no training or guidance?
They do what they’ve been led to believe is correct

Or we spend 10 minutes explaining to the older people how it works, for them to say I don’t have that on me phone .

Where do I write‘behind the bin’? 😂

I'd guess when you hit not delivered - no answer the next prompt will be scan qr on P739 then submit as normal.

Apparently when we get a parcel that's got no barcode on it ie a parcel with 'proper' stamps on it or a business franked parcel we are going to be supplied with some barcodes to stick on the parcel so that it can then get linked to the QR code on the 739

So with no card how can we let the customer know we have left the parcel in a bin under a car or up the tree because those options won’t be on there

Surprised nobody has brought up the situation regarding ASOS parcels yet. The ones which come in the black and white plastic packaging. Massive contract with them.Royal Mail security man came to the office last week, showed a video to managers. They then gave us all a brief. ASOS are using AI to check if their parcels are being left in bins. If they are, even though the customer hasn’t complained, then it’s classed as not delivered correctly. Royal Mail have to compensate them £50 a parcel,yes,£50. Costing us thousands. So now managers basically saying treat ASOS packets as Specials. Other companies are surely going to be doing this. The advancement of AI is going to change our job massively for sure.

This sounds made up nonsense as why would RM pay a fine unless the customer complained that they hadn't received a parcel we'd left in a bin? I doubt many posties leave parcels in bins unless told to do so by a customer anyway.

If no one in, click no answer, then scan p739 and post it. Next scan the parcel again and do as you normally do eg. safeplace or neighbour, Take the photo of safeplace making sure you select the correct option of where you left it ( there will be new selections available e.g. Box andcupboard/store have been added.) The neighbour you go to you will have to get their name and input their postcode and select the address from a dropdown list.

You should always be scanning the 2d barcode on all parcels if available. If no barcode you will have asupply of barcode stickers to attach to any undeliverable parcels.

No more writing on soggy P739 and locker staff will not have to try and decipher illegible scrawl. :Very Happy

How the heck can AI be used to tell where a parcel has been left and what happens when it's unwrapped and the packaging put in the bin?
