It's obvious the reason for all these failures is the parcel volumes, it's crazy for this time of year so they are being prioritised over letters no matter what any upper management say

No they didn't years ago before tracked became a thing, I was a bulk/parcel and bags driver. On a Saturday they used to ask me to lapse the parcels because they aren't covered by the uso in order to deliver mail. I used to do the parcels for a ridiculous amount of ghost overtime instead of leaving them

Quite a few items that we send through to DOs as "packets" are technically large letters. A good example is a standard sized DVD case in a jiffy bag

It also helps create the sense of crisis to which they can then offer up DM26 as the solution (as they are doing in response to every complaint from elected representatives).

That's what I thought, strip it to the bone now, intentionally make it shitter than ever, then implement DM26 along with unlimited overtime/overstaffing and f**k me it's amazing.
