Re: Pay rise %
Good point it'll be billed as a big rise but in reality not so much if some supplements go, tbh I'd prefer the delivery supplement to be incorporated into basic pay for delivery posties as it'd mean a bit more paid into our pensions and finally put a stop to people still thinking it's for d2ds.Jefferson Starfish wrote: ↑16 May 2025, 20:13I don't think even Tweedledee and Tweedledum are stupid enough to think they'll get 24%, unless it's at the expense of loads of terms and conditions.Sean06 wrote: ↑16 May 2025, 20:03Only letting you know what i am being told from somebody in the know.Jefferson Starfish wrote: ↑16 May 2025, 18:25So at £50 million for each 1%, that's 13% and 17% and the cwu want 24% over 3 years.Sean06 wrote: ↑16 May 2025, 17:34Well the 1st offer 650 million over 3 years 2nd one was 840 million over 3 years not sure what 3rd one was but did hear union want 1.2 billion over 3years.![]()

Re: Pay rise %
Sadly I think it's more likely that within the next few years all allowances and supplements will be gone for everyone with none of them being rolled into basic pay. I wouldn't bank on us keeping paid breaks either.ted_e_bear wrote: ↑17 May 2025, 06:00Good point it'll be billed as a big rise but in reality not so much if some supplements go, tbh I'd prefer the delivery supplement to be incorporated into basic pay for delivery posties as it'd mean a bit more paid into our pensions and finally put a stop to people still thinking it's for d2ds.Jefferson Starfish wrote: ↑16 May 2025, 20:13I don't think even Tweedledee and Tweedledum are stupid enough to think they'll get 24%, unless it's at the expense of loads of terms and conditions.Sean06 wrote: ↑16 May 2025, 20:03Only letting you know what i am being told from somebody in the know.Jefferson Starfish wrote: ↑16 May 2025, 18:25So at £50 million for each 1%, that's 13% and 17% and the cwu want 24% over 3 years.Sean06 wrote: ↑16 May 2025, 17:34Well the 1st offer 650 million over 3 years 2nd one was 840 million over 3 years not sure what 3rd one was but did hear union want 1.2 billion over 3years.![]()

Aye, they won't scrap them all at once but instead keep recruiting new staff that don't have them in their contract whilst quietly pressuring the older staff out until there is no one left to defend them. There is no legal right for paid breaks and in our office we are allowed to leave 20 minutes early due to it so I hope that the Union don't negotiate this one away.
Once paid breaks, set rotas, job security and reasonable allowances are gone what do we have left?
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

Re: Pay rise %
Inflation this morning has gone up to 3.5%. union have rejected offers over that (probably by .1 and .2)
We need to be looking at the minimum 5% and that is just for this year

Royal Mail have expressed their desire to reach an agreement, and we will continue with negotiations next week and our aim is to reach an overall agreement by the time the transaction completes on 30th May 2025.
