Oh, he will be back on with his ‘beg to differ ‘ always wanting the last word stance. It’s quite obvious to most on here that it is going to be tougher than it is now for us. Must be a
end to work with.

It isn’t changing your hours. Come in on time and go home on time. It is your manager’s job to worry about what work does and doesn’t get done. It is what they are being paid for. Quit it with the insults too.SMS1969 wrote: ↑04 Feb 2025, 08:57Because managers will argue as to what can and can’t be taken out, also it’s more tiring prepping in a duty that has far more mail than now, so it makes it a problem.LouBarlow wrote: ↑04 Feb 2025, 07:48This doesn’t make any sense. You are correct in saying that you will still be working the same hours, so why would it matter if you have 3 days of mail to deliver in that time? That isn’t your problem.SMS1969 wrote: ↑03 Feb 2025, 20:25All I can see is lots of cutting off and arguments galore with managers. Just stand your ground and do your time if that’s what you want. I’ll be using a trolley and taking my time. Royal Mail and the CWU don’t give a flying feck about you. Got the cheek to think a 9 day fortnight will help with fatigue, when you have 3 days of mail some days. You will need the extra day off to recover. Enjoy Mondays and Tuesdays while you can folks.
And 9 day fortnights are great. If they lead to everyone getting them then this scheme at least has some benefit.
I guess he couldn’t keep away

Although fair play on the restraint showed before you started replying to all my posts again. A good few months.

I never said it would change my hours, but it’s clear to see that ‘ discussions ‘ with managers plus in increased workload prep wise will make it more tiring. There’s no argument against it.

How is it making the job more tiring? Mentally, I can see how having confrontations every day would be initially an issue, but you aren’t going to be alone on that. If this method fails as spectacularly as I predict, then entire offices will fail. Physically, you should be less tired as more time on your frame = less time on the street.

If you can’t see that it’s all the more tiring prepping in trays of mail from previous days, having to stand there longer then fine. Pushing heavier mail with packets in a trolly still makes it more tiring.

Think of it like in racing terms - the handicap. The horses are asked to do the same track, the same distance, in not far off the same time but the powers that be make it more interesting by increasing the effort and wear and tear on the fastest horses, consequently testing them harder.
They are massively increasing our effort by increasing the workload. You can slow down as much as you like but you'll still be struggling with more awkward prep (and awkward managers) in the office, and shifting more load out of the office. We will be more physically and mentally drained. There's good reason why a lot of good horses just stop trying once you up the handicap.

It would be 2, sometimes 3 days worth of mostly 2nd class which as you know makes up the bulk of what we deliver letter wise. Thats what he means no?
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next
