All I can see is lots of cutting off and arguments galore with managers. Just stand your ground and do your time if that’s what you want. I’ll be using a trolley and taking my time. Royal Mail and the CWU don’t give a flying feck about you. Got the cheek to think a 9 day fortnight will help with fatigue, when you have 3 days of mail some days. You will need the extra day off to recover. Enjoy Mondays and Tuesdays while you can folks.

This doesn’t make any sense. You are correct in saying that you will still be working the same hours, so why would it matter if you have 3 days of mail to deliver in that time? That isn’t your problem.

And 9 day fortnights are great. If they lead to everyone getting them then this scheme at least has some benefit.

Because managers will argue as to what can and can’t be taken out, also it’s more tiring prepping in a duty that has far more mail than now, so it makes it a problem.

It isn’t changing your hours. Come in on time and go home on time. It is your manager’s job to worry about what work does and doesn’t get done. It is what they are being paid for. Quit it with the insults too.

How is it making the job more tiring? Mentally, I can see how having confrontations every day would be initially an issue, but you aren’t going to be alone on that. If this method fails as spectacularly as I predict, then entire offices will fail. Physically, you should be less tired as more time on your frame = less time on the street.

They are massively increasing our effort by increasing the workload. You can slow down as much as you like but you'll still be struggling with more awkward prep (and awkward managers) in the office, and shifting more load out of the office. We will be more physically and mentally drained. There's good reason why a lot of good horses just stop trying once you up the handicap.

It would be 2, sometimes 3 days worth of mostly 2nd class which as you know makes up the bulk of what we deliver letter wise. Thats what he means no?
