Delivery Method Change?

A lot of walks are not possible currently with one day of mail. They won't suddenly won't become possible with 2 or 3 days mail. They'll become even more impossible when 2 or 3 days mail will need throwing in and prepping before going out.

RM have made the walks so long that on busy days at present it's difficult/impossible to clear, now they want to double and even triple the mail on the same length walks and the CWU seem content to accept that's a reasonable suggestion.

Posted this on another thread, from a CWU bulletin, doesn't this mean exactly what you guys are saying - the non-priority items?

First-class mail and all parcels will be delivered to every
address 6 days per week, Monday through Saturday.

Non-priority items such as 2nd class and downstream access,
unless they pay more, will be delivered to an address every other
day, Monday through Friday. This means every address will get 5
deliveries of non-priority items over 10 days, but they will get a
delivery every day of 1st class and parcels.

DTS isn't going away, it's probably the only thing stopping DOs getting their 1C as manual on the non-2C days as just the 1C alone won't be worth turning the machines on

Don't forget to prep in the d2d's as well, only 2 days of delivery on b route that week, so you will be going to pretty much every call anyway, as well as doing all the backed up small packets.

Once the ink has dried on the purchase document the USO will go and the EP group will rip up the agreement with the union and back track everything. The excuse will be the excuse of our time….”we’ve looked at the figures and it’s worse than we thought”. It doesn’t take a genius to work out that this new method of working willl involve massive job losses. How else are they going to save £300m? Once the USO has gone there will be no regulation of any of the mail. They’ve even built in a ridiculous get out for failing 1st class before it’s even trialled.

You know those criminal gangs who do a 'smash and grab' on jewellers and banks etc. Yeah, it's basically the same thing but the 'criminal' is already billionaire, and it's not illegal. (Though you could say it's morally worse)

If one of those 3 is a part timer then does 2 full timers need to prep 4 walks of D2D's instead of 2 walks they are doing now, bearing in mind some weeks you can have 4 leaflets?

I would imagine the official trials only started yesterday so I would imagine nobody's got a clue what they're supposed to be doing
or how well it's going yet!

It is an absolute PITA trying to prep mail into a double slotted frame full of households.
