NOTICE FOR LOCAL DELIVERY REPS : Blanket overtime ban

Has there been any resolution to this? As it all seems to have gone very quiet. Our area CWU is aware of it. Contracted hours only, no day off cover, no overtime paid to complete. Never, ever happened like this before except the days following a strike.

Why are people "getting back to the office for 14:19"? This is the problem.

It isn’t much worse than those who still start 30+ minutes early every day. Maybe if they didn’t do that there would be some paid overtime available in their offices?

Sad but true. I've never known a company where so many people are willingly giving this business hours of work for FREE. It's not as if they can finish earlier because if they get back early managers are giving them more work to do or making sure that they clock out on time. It doesn't make any sense. Our Union should be holding local meetings (can't remember the last one) telling people not to come in early, not to work through their breaks and certainly not rush round trying to complete deliveries but instead take their time, use the trolleys provided and educating them on the correct overrunning procedures that are already in place.

Without doing this there is no credible Union but instead are leaving posties high and dry in dealing with everything themselves. Everyone knows that most of the duties in our office are f***ed, so why bother trying to make an unachievable workload look achievable by working unpaid hours?? All it is doing is making it more difficult for themselves and for management who, believe it or, are pressured in trying to save even more hours and still get these duties completed in future.

So it's cwu's fault people work for free im sure most are grown adults an can make there own minds up why they start early.

We have a bloke in our section who always comes in 60 mins early, now overtimes banned he comes in 90 mins early so he can get it done
