The CWU provides no legal protections - employment law does that. This is a union that signed a legally binding contract with an employer and then admitted it couldn't afford to enforce it once it was broken. There's nothing you can't to do for yourself that the CWU won't do.

The Government had no authority to stop the sale on the basis they felt DK was getting the company on the cheap.

RM have peed over the USO for at least the last 5 years. I can't decide if it is funny, shocking or just stunningly naïve of the CWU to think that RM have any intention of sticking to any "new" USO in the future.

There was an article on the news today saying that HMRC are making it almost impossible to contact them by phone in order to bin the service and force people online. RM have been doing that with the USO for years, destroying all reliability with delivering letters, and they will continue to do so. They want it watered down to a point that they will deliver letters when they want to.

But the CWU, bless their little cotton socks, seem to think otherwise.
