There's no room now in most DO's so where are they going to fit another complete sorting frame?

They don't have to add another frame.
They will simply identify one frame as first class. As we do with NHS letters currently.

We stopped segging NHS letters months ago, don't know when or why, just one day I was on the IPS and wasn't given any to prioritise.

We stopped doing for months and have recently started again, make it all make sense.

If they're going to have the 2C sorting not done until ALL the 1C sorting is finished then that could result in a change of dispatch times to the inward MCs as I don't think that just the 1C alone will keep the early runs viable to operate. I think a complete realignment will be coming up soon across the board, depending on how it all plays out

I don't really understand why the CWU is keen to agree with Royal Mail that we work less Saturdays and instead work more weekdays. When they have brought this up in CWU Live streams on youtube they speak as if that's what posties want. When did they even poll us on that?...

I'd personally rather have a rolling day off as it breaks up the week. Working 5 days in a row is a drag. I get it - some people will prefer that as they get more full weekends off, but I just don't understand why the CWU assume that most posties want a Mon-Fri working week.

I think the CWU are keeping this up their sleeve to get a lot of offices onside with the changes. Remember, many offices barely saw any change in their start/finish times, whereas some are now out to 4pm, and then some. Many units will still have their 'decent' Saturday finish times too. There is no doubt that the changes this year will mean later times, probably more noticeable for some more than others, and this will be the sweetener.

I definitely will be doing ZERO o.t at Christmas this year if I have to start later than 7:39 how it is at the moment, actually probably won't do any o.t all year, I was lucky last year that I was finished at 16:00 at the latest last Christmas and I told managers that that is my cut off time anyway as it gets dark in Kent at 16:00 in Dec.

I think in this job 2 days off together gives you a proper rest. I hate rolling days off. My second choice has always been a wednesday off because it breaks the week up nicely. I think the minority would want more Saturdays, not for everyone but I'd say for most people it would benefit as they would be able to spend more time with family, kids etc and go out for days or nights away.

Changes to MCs workplans like lorries going out later will have a knock-on affect on DOs. Just imagine how it'll affect your DO if the current 2nd run becomes the new 1st run
