The poster Sean presents themselves as not being the sharpest tool in the box judging by his comments on here tbh
Yes, and you can see why they were previously banned when posting as Aiden01.
The day is gonna come when we’re all gonna have to testify.

We've got the new owner coming in soon. They might well have a team going over every aspect of the company with a fine tooth comb, who knows what they might decide to do
I think the point is that you usually decide anything they can, might or will do will be at the expense or manoeuvring of delivery, yet keep MCs as some kind of sacred cow unmovable operation.

I'm sorry if this has already been asked but our office for the first time is about to be hit with an overtime ban. Can I refuse to prioritise tracked items because they are Non-USO unless I am given this in writing? I am happy to follow the guidelines for not working any OT but since we are directed to deliver the USO then it seems strange that we would deliver non-USO items before USO items. If RM wants this then surely something in writing to this effect would help

You won't find any manager that will give you anything in writing regarding prioritising the Tracked items over the letters because they are tasked with budgets to try and clear everything and still be cost effective. Regarding watering down the universal service - the CWU are fully on board with it as they are holding USO pilots in 37 offices - so honestly, if managers want you to ensure that all the parcels are delivered that day, then that is what you should do. If you decide not to do this then it is very likely that they will use the conduct code on you for not following a 'reasonable request' and this Union is unlikely to back you up.

How many times do you have to hear that we are a parcels business that delivers letters....
If stopping a postie from posting post were reasonable, the company would come out with solid statements to that effect, would have re-branded the mail business to something involving parcels and informed the public of the services we offer then instruct us to provide that. It is not reasonable because that is not the case. As things stand, us, the senders and the recipients of mail know our job is to provide that service within specified time frames. The management of the company seem at odds with this, giving out different instructions to us and not attempting to provide that service. Is that reasonable? I don't think so, but even if you do think it reasonable, you must concede that the very fact that management are only making this change behind the scenes with what they're forcing us to do, but not making the change published, official and transparent renders it highly unreasonable? They still go into meltdown at the suggestion of being exposed for telling you in coded ways to prioritise parcels which is still because it is not an official, permissible request. If it were all above board it would be reasonable, they'd have no issue going on record with the instruction and we'd have no grounds to object to it. That is still not the situation and until it is, more people should be less compliant with the request and shame on the union for not leading with that position.

If it were all above board and transparent this place (RMchat) would have a lot less s**t posters and more real predicaments and issues being addressed :thumbup this place is overrun with Royal Mail shills

You also have the health and safety angle - this came up during the Parliamentary session with Thompson.

The number of very large parcels we are getting is unprecedented - where are small offices or others supposed to store them?

And how will you operate - will you just go from first loop on the frame till when you run out of time or try and get rid of your big parcels (that is almost impossible these days of paired/shared van walks?

Do you really want to be bringing back tracked parcels especially showing box size and above (very large items).

Please do as you are told; the USO and how RM wants to operate is not your job. * But nothing stops you being a 'whistle blower'.
That argument falls on it's face when we're told to deliver the the Tracked letters etc but leave the non tracked parcels. It's all a load of nonsense but not worthwhile losing your job fighting over, as it will still be happening when we're long gone.

Only thing stopping them putting them back further is the SDs. If RM did away with the timed ones or if RM did actually merge PF into RM, and transferred the SDs over to the former PF then there'd be nothing stopping them from pushing the dispatch times back. You're deluded if you think they can never push the dispatch times back more.
SP your mantra always seems to be, ''They'll be moving the Despatch Times back more''. As I've mentioned previously your insights into the mysteries of the Mail Centres are appreciated, and I acknowledge that this is a Discussion Forum, however I wish you'd stop envisioning scenarios of Doom & Gloom for Deliveries. :speak to the hand

You don't work in Deliveries and don't understand how we work. Simply dreaming up Ifs & Maybes doesn't help anyone. I believe there's a significant number of staff suffering from mental health issues , including anxiety issues, and just reading some of the Bullshit on this site is enough to cause them concern. Lets try and stick to the facts please. :cuppa
Hear hear. Amazingly our mail centre colleague has mentioned dispatch/despatch in their posts 267 times, way back in 2011 they were touting later dispatch/despatch times. Apart from it coming across as some kind of comedy line (along the lines of ‘That’s another fine mess, shut that door, don’t call me Shirley, if anything dispatch times will become later’) it’s getting really boring now.
Quite sad actually if you have went back an counted how many times someone has actually mentioned dispatch/despatch.must have lots of time on your hands.
I used a little thing called intelligence, entered the word(s) and username into the search tab, 20 second job if that. It probably took me less time than it took you to write your post. :nana
Still quite sad an even worse your ex rm :arrrghhh

Why not just leave the site to actual posties
