Re: My Performance app
Im pretty certain that the manager gets bonus if office is compliant with checking it
Ours literally takes your PDA and checks it for you to make sure its done
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

There is a list in our office with all our names and PDA login codes. Someone in our office is given a list of names to go through with the sole purpose of logging in and going through myperformance. I could say a lot more than this which goes on....but it is related to the managers £5k bonus. There was also a rumour that the managers were also paid extra over and above their contractual salaries for delivering parcels last Sunday
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

If the someone who is given access isn’t a manager then that’s not right, that should not be happening.postslippete wrote: ↑27 Dec 2024, 11:40Acca Dacca wrote: ↑26 Dec 2024, 23:43Im pretty certain that the manager gets bonus if office is compliant with checking it

It’s incredible to me that the managers care so little about service levels. They will literally do anything for a bung.

Re: My Performance app
Perverse incentives.
I check mine daily anyway because I find the numbers for first time delivery either inscrutable or outright bogus. It usually reports total packets between 60% to 80% of what I know I had, so I figure the non-Tracked don't count. But then I've been out with nothing but letters and somehow it reports the next day I had items. Occassionally it reports more than I know I had. So maybe recorded letters count? Except, seemingly not always. It's all a black box.
My not-delivered-first-time numbers look unnatural when the figurers for the whole year are viewed together.

Re: My Performance app
Checking the ''Doorstep App'' on the PDA is definetly linked to your Managers end of year bonus, which consists of several elements, this being one of them.
DO NOT accept any BS concerning this Bloody App. The lengths Managers are going to should be evidence enough for us all to realise it's only going to be in their favour. And going by some of these posts it's borderline FRAUD!
Fire it up the line to your Area IR Rep and keep complaining. In my Region it was escalated right up to National Level and the result was the Manager in question was told to wind his neck in by Royal Mail's own HR Department! Please don't accept this blatant BS!

Re: My Performance app
Why bother? You've already proved to yourself that the figures aren't accurate so what's the point? All you're doing is allowing your Manager to tick yet another box... earn some Brownie Points ... and at the end of the year buy a decent second hand car with his bonus!

Re: My Performance app
It falls under a reasonable request to check it though
You cant really argue against it, let alone contact HR over it

You are at work being paid by the company. You aren’t being asked to clean the shithouse just look at an app. Contacting HR

And you can reasonably say that you’ll check it when you have time and then not bother because accessing the app is purely voluntary.Acca Dacca wrote: ↑27 Dec 2024, 23:21It falls under a reasonable request to check it though

Good luck arguing your way out of that one.

Re: My Performance app
If it's so important they could simply tell you what it says, but then presumably that wouldn't trigger the payout. Just look up all the infamous examples of perverse incentives. Is this really about keeping people informed or is it about collecting the bounty?
Another thing I've noticed by keeping tabs on the reported packet numbers is that sometimes they change a few days later. Just another oddity.
The machine stops.

I dont follow your argument AD. If it IS (as you've suggested) Voluntary then you're not under any pressure anyway?
The ''Reasonable Request'' card is played far too much by Incompetent Managers.
Since that incident the manager hasn't spoken to the OPG about that App again! He is still chasing others and even made it a criteria for Staff to be included in the Advent Calendar of Shite, which is a shame (if discriminatory) because the OPG in question was REALLY keen to win that Royal Mail Water Bottle!

Re: My Performance app
In our office management would send out daily reminders to clear any information updates and then to check My Doorstep for individual driving records etc on the pda.
I and others asked the union rep if this was mandatory and we were told it is not.
I have been pulled up a few times in the past for braking & turning falling below the RM standard and asked to sign a sheet to recommend improvement.
During Christmas week I did have a quick peek at my driving performance statistics during the previous week and noticed some of my driving had fallen to 92% on a few occasions but I received no warning from management.
Was this because I was working until 5pm each day clearing my duty? If so it just proves it’s a nonsense.
