You'll know full well that a rank and file member of the CWU would not be able to break the branch stranglehold on both positions. However if a rank and file member could get on the ballot paper they'd beat both hands down. Neither has a popular mandate. In fact the entire bureaucracy has no popular mandate whatsoever. But just like governments, you get the union you deserve.
