You say that you have been finishing by 11.30am latest on the round that you were on but the screenshot of your PDA shows the time at 3.18pm?

My work finish time isn’t 11.30 though. I wish it was. No, they load me with additional work thereafter.

It was a screenshot of a DPR route.
Siding with managers will get you precisely nowhere. They’ll penalise you along with the rest of us.

Managing failures is a prickly subject, but surely nobody could argue against rotating failures so that EVERY walk fails a couple of times a fortnight rather than several failing for 4-5-6 days in a row.

So how do you explain overtime bans? As an office we are short staffed but managers only want to pay overtime to the regular docket chasers on the Tracked items. If there is a duty being left with just mail on it, they won't even get asked.

Ours won’t pay XS to complete, but WILL pay overtime to someone else to take the loops. Make that make sense.

Quite, why would you want more than one WTLL a week?Acca Dacca wrote: ↑14 Sep 2024, 17:56Yes it does matterTrueBlueTerrier wrote: ↑14 Sep 2024, 13:32So does it really matter if she is a postie or manager.
We do not want opinions from others viewpoints shut down because people are anti manager or anti postie. Managers opnions are just as valid as Posties as long as trhey are expressed in a polite and non confrontational manner. I mean we even have it in our rules viewtopic.php?f=7&t=11169
Just because someone has a different viewpoint or political position to you, it does not mean that they are a 'Manager' or a 'Union fanatic', any posts making such assumptions or generalisations will be pulled or amended and the poster warned. This also applies to posts that are not aimed at individuals but at groups.
So please stop with this your a manager crap, it makes no differemce.
If someone is masquerading as a postie when they are a manager or vice versa then of course it matters - especially when their opinions are often inflammatory in nature designed to get people's backs up. Managers should be allowed to post freely but people who clearly are managers but pretending to be 'new starts' and such like and trolling? Nah, I dont want to be part of a forum where a moderator thinks its ok for such practises to go on so im done with this place.

For the past fortnight I have been covering a dream of a supposed “full time” duty that I have managed to have finished by 11.30 am latest even on a Thursday! The dutyholder has plenty of scope to do other work but refuses. The writing is on the wall for this chap, and talk is now that he won’t be coming back off sick leave. Us new entrants regularly have longstanding staff telling us to slow down as we are making them “look bad”.nuisance wrote: ↑14 Sep 2024, 06:33Offices have always been staffed with a sensible number of floaters and reserves. If an office has exceptionally high periods of sickness, cover has always been provided by posties on overtime and spare reserves from neighbouring offices. Failing to keep a reasonable system like this in place and instead just lumping unlimited, unbounded workloads onto posties who already have more than enough of their own work to do is not a sustainable model and our union should never have accepted it.Smoothbackground wrote: ↑14 Sep 2024, 05:09It’s precisely this type of inflexibility that needs eradicating pronto from RM. What happens when this fine, upstanding, pillar-of-the-community postie (who only ever does his own duty, ofc) decides to pull his semi-regular sickie as he fancies yet another impromptu week off? Who ought to cover it all in the scenario you describe?
11.30!!!!!! Bloody hell we don’t even start our walks until 10:30/11:00. How the F..k are people finishing walks at 11.30. Bloody joke have to hammer round to get done for 16:00

Firms walk? Got some firms walks on one of my CSS batches and they are WAY quieter than they used to be before Covid. Just shows how many people are working from home these daysGRS wrote: ↑14 Sep 2024, 21:51Smoothbackground wrote: ↑14 Sep 2024, 17:04The problem is that lots of posties don’t “already have more than enough of their own work”. If it were a temporary problem, sure. I got moved off my duty a bunch of times during Covid without throwing a tantrum, as much as it annoyed me. It's been going on for nearly half a decade now so it has long since worn thin on people.
The machine stops.

Personally think calling someone a manager on here is the easy way out.how long will you be done with this place??Acca Dacca wrote: ↑14 Sep 2024, 17:56Yes it does matterTrueBlueTerrier wrote: ↑14 Sep 2024, 13:32So does it really matter if she is a postie or manager.
