Heard similar before Xmas. 9am specials given to people whose job is 15 miles away at 850am. Don’t worry about it they get it when they get it I bet they don’t tell the sender this when they have paid £20/30 to send it.

Some senders will check every last SD they send to make sure it was attempted before the deadline and that it got all the proper scans along the way. If it hasn't they claim the postage back.

In the days when we took signatures on paper, if I reached an address a bit after 1PM I'd ask the customer if they'd mind if I put the time down as 1255 or the like. As they were in and I wasn't egregiously late, I never had anyone object. A slight flexing of the rules and everyone was happy.

9AMs are a con, though. I have reason to doubt any reported compliance figures for those.
