It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Will they be using any air transport at all? No point delaying the whole day for a few LATs turning up at 10am

For sending stuff abroad yes. For 99.99% of UK deliveries it'll be by road. Got to keep up appearances with the green agenda rememberkazardaimenu wrote: ↑01 Feb 2024, 19:29Will they be using any air transport at all? No point delaying the whole day for a few LATs turning up at 10am

I heard it “off the record” “the union signed up to later starts, people can appeal but it will be coming in regardless” thanks cwu

Off the record? It’s in the agreement that was presented to members.heraldmoth wrote: ↑01 Feb 2024, 20:52I heard it “off the record” “the union signed up to later starts, people can appeal but it will be coming in regardless” thanks cwu

The later the starts and finishes even more people will leave
Can they afford that?
Recruiting more people on new t&c and they leave after a few weeks and so on….

I’m referring to the attitude of managers with regard the family friendly element. It won’t be happening, there will be no negotiation, the start time will move and you can like it or lump it it’s what “we” agreed.Clappedoutpostie wrote: ↑01 Feb 2024, 20:55Off the record? Lol do you mean can they afford to pay less staf, fail more letters and concentrate more on clearing parcels 7 days a week? Yep

15 mins to 90mins is a big difference. Yet another disparity between various DO's that make working at one a completely different experience to working at another.

It'll probably be down to how far away the local MC is away from the RDCs and superhubs. No idea on how they plan on routing the stuff, whether it'll just go through RDCs or if it'll also go through the superhubs1560loopsayear wrote: ↑02 Feb 2024, 11:2515 mins to 90mins is a big difference.
