It is just after 6am with ‘seasonal variation’, yes. And yes, we clear the office every day. It is probably why I enjoy the job and don’t spend my life whining about it on here. If I worked in a shitty office I would likely have a similar attitude to most on these forums. You can only speak from your own experience. Do I pretend every office is like mine? No I do not, and I expect it is far from the norm, but in my experience of this job, the serial moaners are always the loudest. People content are rarely heard from, or if they are, they are hounded off forums like these, as has happened a few times.

I used to think you guys were talking rubbish regarding new entrants & revolving doors. Its now happening in our office & neighbouring offices. Its frightening that most of them leave within a month.
Don't they have to work Sundays, or at least some of them do?, lower pay, no paid break.....so not a surprise....
On top of that, the workload is ridiculous and they are probably pressured to complete.... being pressured to complete 3 years ago was hard enough....now new starts on new rounds must be out there 1 to 2 hours late! - it's flaming ridiculous!

I started doing agency work with RM at about this time last year, ie, November 2022, first through Ryde and then also through Manpower, and I have been a permanent employee since September 2023, ie, just over two months ago. To be fair, I was working pretty much full time through the agency up until joining permanently, so you might say I joined a year ago if being pedantic.
Minimum wage going up to £11.44 an hour just announced. Cant see many takers for £12.29 on a Sunday or any other day of the week for that matter. The chancellor just made RM’s recruitment problem worse.

Just saw that and thought the same. It's much easier to move on from Royal Mail now. That is another big increase in the minimum wage.
What are the chances we get the same % or better rise next April? I don't have much hope as Royal Mail have tried to stifle our income in recent times.

Wait until April when RM move the start times back 90 minutes will be another exodus of staff. This company is fast turning into a gig economy employer, the very thing Dave Ward stood against once upon a time.
