I think he means you don't get paid. The second absence is 2 days unpaid, I think not 3? . 1st absence full pay. 2nd absence 2 days unpaid. 3rd absence 4 days unpaid. 4th absence and any more after that is 3 days unpaid. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think that's the correct rule.

I'm honestly not sure what the people making these decisions moving forward want, other than losing the majority of their permanent workforce.

Re: What is the sickness policy going forward?
First absence is still on full pay.
Second and further absences are at Statutory Sick Pay rates for the first 3 days, then full pay there after (or half pay if you have already exceeded the 6 months limit for full pay)
SSP is £00.00 for the first 3 days

Does it count if you've already been sick this year or does the 12 months start from October when this began?

D'oh...numpty me failed to double check the actual documents that actually are freely available to us. It is in fact slightly worse than I thoughtthefox wrote: ↑03 Oct 2023, 17:48I'm pretty sure that got changed to 2 days unpaid.crazyshrew wrote: ↑03 Oct 2023, 17:06First absence is still on full pay.

(In my poor attempt at a defence, there's been so many damn course changes or full on u-turns in the last 18months)

I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: What is the sickness policy going forward?
Regarding the sick pay conditions from the screenshots, point 4 about having to stay at home (unless for medical reasons). That is surely unreasonable and a breach of a person's human rights? If you live on your own, are you not allowed to go out and buy food, are you expected to starve?crazyshrew wrote: ↑03 Oct 2023, 18:19D'oh...numpty me failed to double check the actual documents that actually are freely available to us. Sick for reasons in your control? Does that extend to catching the flu or covid and being too sick to work because you’ve shared a PDA with a customer to get a signature for a parcel?

I'd have thought it relates to injuries incurred outside of work such as playing football, mind you knowing this lot if you tripped over a kerb on delivery they'd try and say it's your fault for not looking properly.

Young lad, new starter in our office took a heavy wooden gate full in the face, cracking black eye, like a cricket ball & some bruising to his leg, told to be more diligent by manager when it's a windy day.ted_e_bear wrote: ↑05 Oct 2023, 08:49mind you knowing this lot if you tripped over a kerb on delivery they'd try and say it's your fault for not looking properly.
