Any representative from an unrecognised union is only given "companion" status at any disciplinary meeting just like your uncle Frank.

However the biggest problem would be accessing anyone from these pseudo-unions in the first place willing to turn up at your workplace at 48hrs notice.

Real unions do not like to step into the territory of an already recognised union, it tends to cause bad blood at the TUC Christmas party.

These are not proper unions, they are simply scams waiting for a sucker.
Seriously you are giving your money to a union (CWU) that literally trashed your terms and conditions, allowed a two tier work force, threw their own reps under the bus, and allowed RM to do what they want for the last year in every office in the country. Your giving this union your money and ontop of that your saying we need them to defend us from future attacks from RM, and its an independent union thats the scammer. The CWU are literally taking idiots like you for a ride. Keep giving them your money, keep getting screwed of them and then defending them for doing it. Keep telling everyone how great they are, while they keep screwing you over. Honestly, some people are just plain thick.

Any other union will not be able to negotiate for you they can only represent you at disciplinaries and grievances..
I am not sure they can represent you. They can advise you but as they will not be recognised by RM they won't be able to represent you.
I have never heard of either organisation quoted in the OP.
It does not matter if RM recgonise them, RM have to follow employment law, and these unions will give you advise, legal help and come to meetings in your delivery office with you to settle disputes and RM have to let them as its literally written in the LAW.

So I left the cowardly pathetic CWU and joined another union. The links to alternative unions to join are below, both offer representation, advice and legal help. Oh and they wont sell you down the river.

https://www.theworkersunion.com/

https://www.workersofengland.co.uk/

If you want to cancel your membership with CWU, just phone RM HR 0345 606 0603 and tell them to stop CWU payments going from your pay.

Please add other alternative unions if you can find them.
You’re playing right into the companies hands this is just what they want the CWU weakened you’re really not thinking this through or are you not able to?
I give up on people like you, I mean seriously have you got some kind of CWU Stockholm syndrome? Blaming me for the CWU selling us out and becoming a company union. Yeah mate it was my fault nothing to do with Dave Wards lack of a backbone/greed.
The CWU are the only union recognised to represent our grades and like the agreement or not we still need the union to be strong and joining other unions will just weaken us all and prime for a major attack by the company. Any other union will not be able to negotiate for you they can only represent you at disciplinaries and grievances.Your much better off staying with the CWU and try and change them to what you want them to be.
What part of the "CWU are a company union that puts Royal Mail before its members" do you not understand? How many times the CWU have to screw you over before the penny drops and you see they dont care about you? Honestly, I can see why the yes vote won, when there are members like you.

They're not screwing me over.
I look at what I pay and what I get in return with regards to help, support, information and representation from my branch and division and I feel it's reasonable value for money.

I also feel that structure allows me to help and support my colleagues.

Now since you've just really repeated the same rant again and managed to call me an idiot and thick I would imagine or hope you're feeling a little better and don't feel the need to go again.

I've had all that backing in a previous role but when it came to the crunch I had to settle the claim the best I could as they simply weren't prepared to take my former employees on.

The problem is the Union is affiliated to the TUC.

This Organisation is overrun by Wokeism and Cultural Marxism.

Look where you subs are going and it’s not to benefit Working People.

My politics are centre Left and most people are of the centre.
Are you sure? I dont hear many people on the centre left ranting about ''Wokeism and Cultural Marxism''
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

Great straw man argument you made there, anyway you are a lost cause, so keep giving the CWU your money for their Royal Mail before member representation they offer. Meanwhile, for anyone else who no longer wants to be in the CWU there are other unions, give them a go.

Having multiple unions representing staff doesn’t usually end well. Just look at the teachers for example the only reason they’ve been given a pay rise is because they have a huge recruitment and retention issues nothing to do with the 3+ unions that represent them.

You can join any union but a company doesn’t have to recognise that union.

Workers of England is a tiny far-right front.

Workers Union doesn't have a representation agreement with RM nor any real membership, its leadership is even less militant than the CWU leaders! Name one strike they have ever conducted. They don't have reps and won't send a rep to represent you just give you advice. Good luck next time manager drags you into the office!

If we can't organise to fight inside the CWU to change it we won't change anything, joining another union weakens us.

Don't know how accurate these criticisms are but worth looking at:

I Googled Workers of England Union and this website came up at the top of my search. Believing them to be the trade union in question I joined and paid the required £96 annual fee. I then heard from a work chat that people had been duped into signing up to an organisation called The Workers Union who were not a trade union and could not represent me, and to my horror I realised I had fallen for this. I tried emailing the organisation, and a week later I still have not had a response. I called my bank who said they would look into getting my money back for me. They had a phone number for the company but sadly when I tried it comes up invalid number. Since looking into the company I can see an Advertising Standards Agency ruling against them.
