Not sure if the rules have changed, but I believe you are supposed to be out of uniform 2hrs after your shift. But if you do something in that time that reflects badly on RM you can still be conducted. OK if you pop in for a swift one on your way home, but don't settle in for a session.

What about when staff do their food shop on their way home after a shift?
Technically you're not supposed to, but I know lots do.
There's a world of difference between going to the shops and going to the pub, that said if it's not too warm, I tend to wear a civvie jacket over my uniform when food shopping.

I worked with a guy who wore a civvy jacket or coat over his uniform trousers and shirt and carry a briefcase to and from work and would tell people he was a manager and worked in an office.
