I guess the union will now claim victory, that he will go.
Well timed to encourage the gullible that RMG will now be a better more trustworthy company and so you nice little people should all vote yes!
Everything about this dispute was engineered, he has done his job impeccably.
The RM board can say it has listened to the voice of its workers, and it has responded to the criticisms of the select committee, so from their point of view they will be hoping it takes the heat out of the situation. The deal goes through and the select committee and Ofcom forget all about the USO, Simon gets the pay-off he's earned as the front man and fall-guy, unless his masters think he really was incompetent all along, and everyone's a winner. Except for the RM workers who can expect nothing else but the next regime to come after them even more voraciously than the last, after they've scraped together whatever shreds of dignity and self-respect they've managed to salvage from this debacle.
The elitists win again.

Waiting for next CWU video “we removed Simon vote yes”🤣
I wouldn't be surprised if they're working on it as we speak :chuckle

It was hardly surprising. He took his bonus last year while he had the chance and was always going to be made the fall guy because of it. Being called up to a 2nd select committee probably sealed his fate and the fact that this deal that the union has agreed with RM couldn't be done with him involved.
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

Thompson was telling us the company is in a mess financially and we needed to agree the changes, but he'll want a pay off, the hypocrite.

This man emptied the coffers to fund his bonus.
The only reason there's no money is because he gave it away to shareholders to plump his own pocket .

He's got bottle I'll give him that. I'd be a bit wary having sent 115000 people to despair and beyond while taking the mickey along the way delivering antagonistic social media posts, lying and receiving a bonus off the back of the pandemic. My god man. At least your denying having any pride or morals at least by your actions.

Wouldn't surprise me if they put the ex CEO of the Post Office, Paula Vennells, in charge
She should be in jail for the horizon scandal. She knew it was a shitstorm....yet still spent 90 million pursuing cases that were on dodgy evidence.

Really doesn’t matter if he goes The Agreement Still Remains The Same.
It doesn't matter because he was just the puppet. The puppeteers are Williams (and prob not even him) but the majority shareholders such as Kretinsky and those large organisations that hold more than 5% of share.
If anything he is getting the shove because his public relations are a disaster although what he did at the beginning of this dispute would have been applauded by the puppeters. From their point of view, the lesson to be learnt is to look for someone equally malleable but also with better PR skills.

Make sure he gets 9months pay.
Why? That would be £562,500 in his case - another 1/2 million spaffed away.

Extra £6000 if he goes in 14 days
