Also will Royal Mail stop using this "your friendly postie" bullshit in their ads.

People like and trust US, the workers, because we've earned it. Yet in private the company treats us like s**t.
Haha. I know. It’s quite sickening isn’t it? They portray the workforce as young & full of fun, neglecting to tell the general public the true picture - upper management hate all OPG’s guts & are desperate to grind them into the ground
“Shorts,in this weather?!”

“If they’re bills I don’t want ‘em!”

“What’s she been ordering now?”

Just another way to make us waste more time that could be spent delivering the f-ing mail. They're hell bent on doing everything they can to make the letters service so poor that people stop using it.

Plus those flyers telling the public to be chuffed because they can soon get redeliveries or have parcels left with neighbours or in designated safe places... They already can and most just go to the callers office, or they would if Royal Mail hadn't made the opening hours so piss-poor that the public are giving up on this service as well. The company is being absolutely sabotaged by it's own management.

One of the things I don't see talked about enough with this redelivery garbage is the mess the parcels get in with all the extra handling, I've got a few wetwipes on my run that get constant redeliveries but are never home on the 4th of 5th attempt the parcel is in some state it's embarrassing eventually handing it over like that, though at the same time they can do one for wasting my time with the previous delivery attempts.

Most of my "designated safe place" instructions just say "leave on doorstep" and I end up having to card it.

Other companies do this method and as a customer of those the experience goes:

Day 1: I am at work when they show up, and when I come home I find a note saying we need a signature (so no safe place and my neighbours are out working too) and we will try again tomorrow.
Day 2: I am also at work at that time on the next weekday, who would have thought?
Day 3: Guess what, I am also at work at that time on the subsequent weekday.

I had a few people who were quite happy to get a 739 as they worked in town and could pop into the DO the next day and pick the item up. I'm sure they will be just happy with RM's great new initiative which means they will have to wait an extra day to get their packet!
Royal Mail
failing the workforce, failing the public and deliberately failing mail on a daily basis for too many years.

Until auto re-del is classed as a total success and the callers offices are all closed down. I can't understand why the business don't do more to encourage customers to nominate safe places, I sometimes deliver 100+ tracked in a day and about 1% nominate a safe place and then state "other" or front or rear porch when it's a terraced out with neither of them!! Probably once a week I actually get a genuine safe place nominated.
