Give it up Lou. You're arguing with a racist lump of clueless. Might as well try to explain quantum physics to a snail. Completely pointless.
Please tell me what I've said that's racist?
How about formulating an argument instead of the usual name calling.
Brexit stopped the flow of cheap immigrant Labour, that is not racist its fact and if Royal Mail want to be the best then pay has to rise or get left behind, jobs are abundant out there especially for unskilled people much more than skilled, even the agency guys are leaving our place getting fed up with being pissed about and the bullying managers, call the strikes ,dont let them worry you we will all find jobs if it goes tits up .

You can't shut people down for saying "cheap immigrant labour" and say its racist the two things are not the same...cheap immigrant labour is cheap immigrant labour...not I hate that race.
Cheap labour is cheap labour.
Cheap immigrant labour with absolutely nothing to back that up is racist.
She doesn't like foreigners.

Defend the racist if you want. But Milly is a crackpot conspiracy theory racist.
I'm maybe a crackpot conspiracy theorist but even I can grasp the concept of supply and demand.

Immigration just means anyone who is traveling into the country illegally or not illegally it doesn't matter what colour or nationality, your just triggered by the actual word.
Immigration doesn't mean anyone who is travelling into the country. Going on holiday is travelling into the country.
Going on holiday isn't immigration.

You are right. I was triggered by the word. Why did Silly Milly use it?
Because she doesn't like immigrants regardless of their provenance or reasons.
She is a racist.

My dad was an immigrant.
As the son of an immigrant I have met enough Millys to last me a lifetime.
They are racists.
If you must know I'm not even British.
What a plot twist.

Having another nationality other than British doesn't preclude one from being a racist, a xenophobe or being anti-immigration.
At the end of the day you are just postmen [sic].You deserve nothing more than what's been offered and probably a lot less.

Still waiting for an example of my racism.
Pointing out that bringing in large numbers of people into the Country suppresses wages isn't racist.

As I recall, C*rbyn said the same on more than one occasion.
Maybe he's racist too?

but to just pull the race card isn't constructive
Why do you think Milly inserted the word "immigrant" into her sentence.
Her argument is that a pool of available labour will drive down wages.

That would be a fair enough economic argument if there was anything to actually back up that claim in the current situation. There isn't.
So why then pick out one particular group of people - immigrants? - again with actually nothing to back up the claim?

Look at the title of the thread. How constructive was adding immigration to the conversation?
So why did she do it?
Racists just can't help being racist.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

I didn't realise immigrant is a prohibited word.
Have a look on Indeed and see how many jobs pay the NLW or a few pence above it.
The evidence points to an oversupply of workers hence why employers can offer such low wages.

Milly

The problem being you blame immigration coming into the UK for driving down wages as though it is the migrant worker at fault.

The fault is with the employer driving down wages with the unskilled/semi-skilled worker

Research shows that the impacts of migration on wages and employment prospects for UK-born workers is small

I’m not sure that’s true. People coming from Eastern Europe were willing to work for less this is why freedom of movement was problematic.

My wife originally come the UK on a work visa and she had to earn a minimum of £28k to stay in the country. She’s in a professional field so that wasn’t a problem but you would never get a work visa to become a postie.

Ironically since Brexit it’s never been easier to get a visa. The only difference is that you get charge £3k plus for the privilege of working here.

Research from whom?
A pro-immigration think-tank perhaps?

Where are you from, out of interest? It does seem slightly odd to me that someone who benefitted from immigration themself, should be so vehemently against it.
