I’d take that deal? Probably option B on the pay deal but otherwise I’m happy with that.
While 1500 sounds nice, it’s. Not pensionable. And of course who knows what will happen next year with the proposed 6%, things change and that might not happen.

Whereas option a with the 6% now would be better for pension.

I would take option A
It's not proposed if it gets voted. It's a 2yr deal :arrrghhh
There is nothing stopping RM pleading poverty next year or crying that the revisions etc havent saved them enough money and saying its now unaffordable

These agreements cant be enforced - the union can ballot if not honoured but that doesnt change the fact that the payrise isnt guaranteed
That’s one of the reason I want to grab the 1500 now. At least it’s in your pocket then and not something RM can withhold when they claim to be losing a million a day or something.

Because things change.
When you start in life you live at home, then you rent a flat, then you buy a family home. Same in buisness, it started off as the public wanting letters at 7am and 5pm, then they wanted parcels, then one delivery and now they want everything as soon as its ordered.

Thats not to say that the workforce of the country cant move around to find similar or better employment.
The only reason to leave is because of the change of hours but what other job is going to allow you to finish at 3pm?
I heard of a job today - 6am to 2pm - getting the meals ready for planes at an airport. £11/hor but free brakfast lunch and dinner and unlimited coffee - not my cup of tea :left: but might suit some

Perhaps the hours will be more amenable than the proposed new deal.

This is exactly what royal mail want everybody arguing as if this is the final offer you are all like lemmings off a cliff just ignore a or b they are not acceptable to the union so do one :nana
Nicely put. No acceptable deal is on the table yet. The "best and final offer" weakly dressed up in a couple of ways with some very insulting little bribes tacked on are not the business engaging with the workforce. Stay strong, expect and demand better. We are worth it and we earn it.

That's always going to be the case whatever offer we receive, we're never going to get a lump sum offer net of tax/NI.

It is already established law with Trade Union Membership in the TULRCA 1992 and discrimination with non members.
I knew you'd almost come good in the end len, but it's 'detriment' not 'discrimination'!

Agree should have chosen my words better and you are correct

What I stated was treated less favourably than another employee but in error with the term indirect discrimination as no protected characteristics or PCP involved with Trade Union Membership

Snap , same here a larger percentage means RM pay more into your pension pot , also doesn’t the company have form for breaking agreements .
