On that thinking no one in a private company would get a rise ever so we would be on 2009 wages can you imagine 10 years from now.

Re: its not a 10% pay rise
Nurses were guaranteed a pay rise after the then chancellor Rishi Sunak announced that the pay freeze would end in April 2022?

Junior doctors also staging a 4 day strike next week demanding a 35% pay rise. They currently consist of around half of all doctors.
Not paying the new recruits at Royal Mail on the same pay, terms and conditions for doing the same job as us could lead to them striking in future?

On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

Feck Red you really are a martyr to your own cause. For a start we are fighting for are rights and pay, nobody elses public, private or otherwise. If thats your best argument go back to your monthly paid friends and tell them we dont want it.

Re: its not a 10% pay rise
Striking NHS staff have a bit more leverage than us though. For a start their 'business' is funded by the taxpayer, not profits from the business working. Some would say thank god being as the NHS is quite possibly worse run and managed than royal mail.
Second their job id a bit more important than ours with no alternative unless you want to pay to go private. If we strike, people use a different courier.

There isn’t but as they will find out soon enough where will the staff come from that want to work for them? That reason alone the company is done for without even mentioning the rest of the mismanagement.
