Attendance interview questions
Hi guys,
This week I would like to return to work after a 2-week sick leave due to a back injury, but I have not fully recovered and may extend it for another week.
I know that therefore I will get 1 stage, for the last 4 years I have had 3, 1 stages.
I've never had a 2nd stage and the last 1 stage I got was 2 years ago.
Will I be fired from my job if I extend my sick leave?
I read in some contract that the medical record is reset every 4 years?

Re: Attendance interview questions
No. You can only get fired for sickness if you get to a stage 3 (consideration of dismissal) hearing.
You only get to stage 3 if you have unsatisfactory attendance in the 6 months after a stage 2.
And you only get stage 2 if you have unsatisfactory attendance in the 6 months after a stage 1.
You are fine. Relax, and dont go back before you feel ready.

And is it not that due to the current situation, people with even 1 stage will be considered for forced dismissal?

No it isnt, just had stage 1 issued after 3 month sick. Stage interviews are apparently going to disappear though according to my manager. He reckoned the stages will be issued from somewhere else,no meeting no rep, av it

Yes they will be automatically issued if you have enough absences.pieoftheday wrote: ↑20 Mar 2023, 16:51No it isnt, just had stage 1 issued after 3 month sick. No you wont be sacked. You will get a Stage 1.Stryjo wrote: ↑20 Mar 2023, 09:23Hi guys,

If you are not fully recovered take another week or however long it takes to FULLY RECOVER. Your health is more important. You are just a number to Royal Mail.
Doesnt matter if you are off 2 weeks or 2 months, you will still only get a Stage 1.
However if you come back too early and go sick again you will probably get also get Stage 2 unless the two absences are classed as one.

Re: Attendance interview questions
Simple answer is no .Make a recording of any interview or telephone call .Always remember that your health is the most important thing in this wirkx never rush back as that can lead to further injury and take the doctors physio advice .Keep royal mail fully informed and always ,always follow it up with a letter sating as per telephone conversation with so and so date etc .don't stress it as mental health issues are prominent in a lot of my colleagues .
