What's this "rule 13"? Our rep put a disagreement in but it didn't stop anything? Not heard anything abour "rule 13".

You can request a rule 13 from your area branch
There are a few hurdles to cross to get one and 80% of your office need to attend meeting and sign off
Your branch should have all the details
But local rule 13s are covered by our national action

Isn't this similar or indeed the same as what CWU have mentioned before as Woody highlighted (under the existing strike mandates)

However, in outlining the above it is also relevant to point out to Branches that following legal advice it has been confirmed that our national ‘Change Ballot’ can be used to announce strike action at selected units where Royal Mail seeks to move forward executive action. This applies where the local executive action is in breach of the Pathway to Change and associated agreements as set out in the ‘Change Ballot’. There is no need for these units to ballot again separately but Branches would have to request additional strike action in time to allow for endorsement of the Postal Executive and the mandatory notice period to be given.

No deal will be announced, this was never about tha, this is purely to deal with EA and suspensions, deal is the long game.

Literally every RM2000 frame is now 'double slots' (2 address points in one slot).

And that'll be the justification for eventually removing the frames and shifting over to bench merging come the next revision - they want ever larger walks but won't add more wings and they can't triple slot it, so RM2000 frames will be made obsolete.

So by signing up to the 1st step revision activity, is this a prelude to further transformation? The board ( now minus Thompson allegedly) indicated to the Times last week that they have 2 financial statement proposals concerning RM USO letter results that they could publish. One was letters could be financially viable if transformation was agreed.The other that if not agreed, it wouldn't be and RM letters would become insolvent .And therefore GLS would be separated and parts of RM letters including the property estate would be sold off to equity firms ( otherwise known as asset stripping).This made our lead negotiater panic....a rabbit in the headlights..and all that so he believes we need to seek a resolution to the dispute.
Given that RM has significant cash flow problems and has been told by its lenders that it cannot draw down on its £1.2 billion euro bonds for day to day financial activities as this money is only for investing purposes its now up a creek with no paddle as it has significant cash flow issues..so RM needs a resolution to the dispute to remain in business as is and part of IDS.
This means it needs cash fast to replace or at least slow down its burn rate, A K A the Rico Black and pre pandemic position of RM pre Willaims is biting its arse again...
So the answer is yes this is just the start of transformation, in which RM is now looking to extract quick cash savings, hence DPR won't drop next week as no staff, no money,no change in network patterns. As all that comes later when it finishes with the air network which is set for September and these changes will then be linked to pay over 3 years, with a probable paltry 1.5% back dated pay offer linked to 9 or 12% over 3 years if savings achieved etc....lions led by donkeys I'm afraid...
