If you have 100 posties in your office, 77 voted.

74 Voted YES
3 voted no.

Those 3 strike breakers sure seem to be making a lot of noise on here.

Why would the 3 people who voted No, be Strike breakers?
The could easily just respect the democratic vote of the membership and take industrial action with their colleagues.
Many people on here seem to live in a binary World.

This thread was about a hugely positive show of support by the membership in its union.

It has been swallowed up by the deliberate negativity of a few individuals multiple posting different versions of the same s**t.

That's what's ruining this site.
Can you not understand people being negative? We had a similarly impressive Yes vote last year, had god knows how many days on the line, losing £1000s and now we are back at square one, only with the threat of revisions and EA this time round. If progress appeared to be being made, then I would be all aboard the positivity train, but all I see is an industry in decline, less revenue being generated and no realistic way to achieve what a vast majority on here clearly want.

I’m not a ‘power to the people’ revolutionary, like many of those on here (the ‘WE SHOULD JUST GO OUT AND STAY OUT!’ And the ‘IM STRIKING TILL I GET A 12% BACKDATED RAISE!’) I am a pragmatist. Unless the business adjusts, we aren’t going to generate the money needed to fund a raise. Mail is ridiculously down in my office. I am having to finish my Monday prepped D2Ds on a Saturday as by then I have a good 40% left. That is as low a call rate as I have ever seen at this time of year. I deliver to a wealthy area, and even there people are not spending money on online products. This is a small sample size, granted, but I’d be amazed (bulk postings aside) if people nationwide are not seeing similar, presuming they aren’t *still* clearing the backlog.

Now this is a fair comment I feel. I don’t agree with those demanding a pay rise with no changes to working practises. Sorry. Just a realist. Not a manager.
The Union have never stood against changes to working practices.

They're against an assault on on our pay, terms and working conditions.

RM do not want modernisation, they look at Amazon and want us to go there- back to the bad old days.

IM off.

Ive had 2 years of abuse from certain members on here and at times have snapped back.

Thanks to the mods youve all been wonderful and very supportive during these instances so thankyou for that.

Seems the forum is only open to people with one point of view and anyone different isnt allowed to speak for fear of being called a troll or just generally abused.

Genuinely sorryy to the other users on here who have seen thread after thread being taken off topic when view have been challenged.

Hopefully the CWU/RM agreement will get sorted without the kind of biterness on here and this forum wont be required any longer.

Cheers. :wave

If you have 40% of your D2Ds left at the end of the week, then you obviously aren’t delivering your D2Ds to every door on your walk. What the heck does that have to do with mail levels? You are supposed to go to every door to deliver vital advertising literature.
They are cleared up every week as instructed. Please read my post before replying. They are numbered manually on a Friday and delivered on Saturday. Thus a clear frame. Then the next week’s are prepped on the Saturday for the following week.

If you are delivering your D2Ds door to door, you won’t have any left over apart from any excess drops you might have been given by the suppliers of the leaflets.

TBF, LB means there's 40% of D2D's left in allocated slots on the frame that haven't been 'warm called' during the week, not 40% left shoved under the frame as excess. However, we still let them roll over into the next week if they're not time critical with management
permission. How inefficient is it to drive down a mile long farmers track to deliver a double glazing leaflet!

Thank you, that is exactly what I meant. No idea why it was so hard for the previous poster to comprehend, but still. We were actually told this week that D2Ds are ok to be rolled over to the next week anyway - RM only insist that they aren’t delivered early. I still like to clear them on the Saturday anyway as it fills my hours for the day, whereas I would be returning to the office hours early, due to lack of mail, and having nothing to do till finish time.

That is a fair point, but I’m not going to return to the office and twiddle my thumbs. I don’t start early and we don’t leave early, so filling my day however I can, is my priority. I will find something to do on the Monday too e.g. cleaning my van or my frame etc.

I think a lot voted because they want more negotiating power in the talks and 'vote yes win the dispute'.But the hunger for striking is no where near the same as before. There will be people who voted yes but are done with strikes by now.My office is sick of the strikes but still voted yes for the talks

I have heard a few in my office (who have zero budgeting ability and drink and smoke and pay child support) say that they will be working the next strikes.

It's fine, it's a personal choice, of course. I will strike with everyone else so you don't have to because I knew this was coming, just like I knew the last one was coming, and I am capable of living within my means.

As long as the CWU have something better than 1-2 day strikes that are easily cleared up this time, that shouldn't matter.
