Never signed this off at all, no idea where you get that from.
It was to be used in exceptional circumstances ie late arrival of the wagon etc and was never compulsory, we were asked years back and some did some didn't take up the 'offer' as it suited some back then.
You can't be made to work past your time as it stands. Period.

Not Royal Mail. Not the CWU. Me.
I will work over my time, if I want to.
I bloody won't, if I don't.
This isn't 1223 AD, and I'm not a bloody serf.

Is it any wonder, most of us don't want to work for this massively shitty company anymore?

Re: Stay out and complete?
Have all managers had their printing rights confiscated? Nothing is in writing anymore. Not even ‘How To’ guides on any new procedure.
They wander around giving out snippets of info to various people and just somehow hope that this will all form a coherent message and everyone will know exactly what to do.

Area rep has been in today and confirmed we don't have to stay out but has advised we take a witness when informing the manager that they might be cutting off.

It’s as if they are purposefully ruining a job we all quite enjoyed, in order to make us leave.DirtyHarry wrote: ↑31 Jan 2023, 04:59Is it any wonder, most of us don't want to work for this massively shitty company anymore?

Nobody in their right mind would want to stay with this verminous company, if they didn't have to.

Re: Stay out and complete?
You do all realise in the real world that overtime is compulsory in most companies if they require it, its not an unusual or unreasonable request in 2023.DirtyHarry wrote: ↑31 Jan 2023, 14:26They're almost there.Barnacle wrote: ↑31 Jan 2023, 13:54It’s as if they are purposefully ruining a job we all quite enjoyed, in order to make us leave.DirtyHarry wrote: ↑31 Jan 2023, 04:59Is it any wonder, most of us don't want to work for this massively shitty company anymore?

That has been their mission from the start. Annoy the workers that much they will leave, then employ younger hungrier staff who will do the work whatever their T’s & C’s are.Barnacle wrote: ↑31 Jan 2023, 13:54It’s as if they are purposefully ruining a job we all quite enjoyed, in order to make us leave.DirtyHarry wrote: ↑31 Jan 2023, 04:59Is it any wonder, most of us don't want to work for this massively shitty company anymore?

Re: Stay out and complete?
That’s not the same thing as being discussed here. Anyway, overtime is only compulsory if it is in your contract, otherwise you can just say no.2yearpostie wrote: ↑31 Jan 2023, 15:37You do all realise in the real world that overtime is compulsory in most companies if they require it, its not an unusual or unreasonable request in 2023.DirtyHarry wrote: ↑31 Jan 2023, 14:26They're almost there.Barnacle wrote: ↑31 Jan 2023, 13:54It’s as if they are purposefully ruining a job we all quite enjoyed, in order to make us leave.DirtyHarry wrote: ↑31 Jan 2023, 04:59Is it any wonder, most of us don't want to work for this massively shitty company anymore?
